That's kind of tough. I think 2 had a stronger ending and a better villain, but 3 had a better overall story and game play.
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.

That's a tough one. I lean towards 3. I love the opening bar fight scene. I love how it goes back in time and the cruise ship level as well.

Also, check out this awesome Easter Egg in the bar. There is a newspaper on the bar that foreshadows the events of The Last of Us. Pretty cool.

I thought The Bureau was fun. It just didn't feel much like a XCOM game.

I saw you playing that last night and I couldn't remember if it was a game I've heard of before or if it's just because the name has been done a million times. I swear there are way too many games with the word "hearts" in it. I think I was thinking of Vandal Hearts.

What is Valiant Hearts about? Is it an original game or is it a part of a franchise? I've never heard of it before.

    Two things:

    1) I'm done pre-ordering video games. Too many games are brought out before they are ready and I am sick of paying for glitchy, buggy games. Pre-order incentives sweeten the deals for people until they get the game and realise it will take a few weeks worth of patching (in a lot of cases) to make it play as our money intended for it to play. Studios/Distributors could care less if the game needs some work still when it's released because they've already sold X number of games anyways. I don't get the video game pre-order and how it only seems to exist in videogames. In what other form do consumers pay for goods and services a year before it's even ready to be used? We don't buy our tickets to a movie a year before it's released and we don't buy our burgers before the cow is slaughtered...

    2) I really, really want this game to be great. It seems like it could be some very unique survival horror. In comparison to Dead Space (heavily inspired by Alien) there is only one alien and I doubt it will die until near the end of the game which makes me ask the question, if the game is a 10-15 hour affair (as most of these games tend to be) just how are they going to fill up those hours gameplay wise? Is it going to be a lot of running, hiding, and deceptive strategies? Figuring out ways to attack it but not kill it? From what I understand it's called Isolation because it's just you and the Xenomorph so I wonder what the actual story is going to be. I am assuming in Alien fashion there will some sort of sinister overtones from Weyland and the Mother OS and that will carry a chunk of the narrative. I just have a lot of worries when it comes to how this game will actually play and whether or not it's going to be a fun and/or enjoyable game to play. I've gotten hyped for too many Alien games in my life, the latest being that crap fest Colonial Marines that also looked fantastic trailer wise and looked and sounded like Aliens, that it's so, so hard for me to get excited over Isolation. But until I read some very good reviews after release I can't let myself get the least bit hyped for it.

It's a side scroller that pretty much chronicles the events of World War I. The visual direction is like something out of an animated Disney film, but the subject matter is dark obv. It's almost exclusively a puzzle game. The music is beautiful and throughout the game you find these journals with real life pictures of the things that happened during the war and explanations as to what each is. Fantastic game.

Well, I beat the first inFAMOUS game. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I will probably move right in to the second game.

I went the good route. I tend to do that more often in video games for some reason. It table top games I play evil characters way more often.

I usually play the good route first too. Then my second playthrough I play evil and just let er rip. It is especially gratifying to play evil in the Infamous games because you can wreck hell on the city without needing to worry about civilian deaths.

Hell if anything, watching those innocent bystanders get nuked makes the destruction that much more satisfying

You guyz is pussies. When I play games I leave bodies in my wake. In Fallout 3 I killed every single citizen of Megaton except for Jenna...she...she had to live with it.

Some pictures of my pure evil:

Haha. I wreak that sort of evil in table top RPGs*, but not in video games for some reason. If I like a game well enough, I will do a second play through as an evil character, but I always start out good for some reason. I guess I am a Jedi at heart. haha.

*In one D&D game, my friends and I acquired an evil sentient sword and we gave it to a high ranking good Paladin in the middle of a city, watched it take him over and he went on a killing spree throughout the city. After that, any time we would see a member of that church in the streets, we would incite a riot against them. It was hilarious.

There's a Games Workshop in our mall (which closes at 9 weekdays/6 weekends) and I think they mostly specialise in Warhammer and stuff like that. I love risk and I think Warhammer would be a lot of fun but fuck painting et all you have to do with it.

I've checked a few comic shops and they do a lot of Magic, but no D&D. I have a friend whose wife was big into D&D, but she hasn't done it in a few years. She told me she might start doing it again, so I might be able to get in on that.

There are always people playing Magic at my local Tim Hortons in the middle of the night. I enjoyed playing it when I was a kid and had fun playing with some friend on Xbox Live but in terms of actually spending money on decks etc, I ain't gonna do it. It's a fun card game but if we're playing cards I'd rather lay down 20 bucks and play some Hold Em....I'd rather win money at cards than spend money at cards lol. Dungeons and Dragons could be fun but if I played it would be the most normal game of Dungeon and Dragon's possible...everyone would have normal names like Bob and Sally and we'd be like exploring office buildings and the pentagon and shit....I assume the dungeon master can make that happen, right?

The mini paining for Warhammer can be rough because the armies are so big and it can end up being a lot of painting the same or similar minis over and over.

As an alternative, you might consider War Machine. I played it for a while and really enjoyed it, though I enjoy mini painting as long as the armies aren't too big or repetitive.
You can get a starter box for War Machine taht is usually 4 units for around $50 and then tweak and add/replace units if you enjoy the game.

    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...arter-products

When I played, I used the Protectorate of Menoth:
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...th-battlegroup

Here is one of the ones I painted back when I was playing:
    Spoiler:

It is not a Games Workshop game, though, so I am not sure how easy it would be to find people to play in your area.

If you have $99, there is a two player Battle Box you could buy and rope a friend into playing with you. haha. It has Menoth and Khador, which are two of my favorite factions
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...yer-battle-box

Since this is a video game thread, I will also mention that there is also a PC game version up on Steam Early access, though the early access price is a bit steep for my taste(it turns into the Deluxe Edition on release, though).
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/253510/

The advantage of that is no mini painting at all. haha.

That is kind of surprising. Game shops around here sometimes have a bulletin board where people can advertise looking for players/game and sometimes a website with a forum for the same thing.

There is a system called d20 Modern that you can set your adventures in the modern world, though you would be more likely to be doing some covert ops type shit in most games set in that system. haha

There's terrible true razz haha. That is the reason why I rarely get games upon release anymore (that and the price). I'd much rather get a game six months-a year after release that has had numerous patches. It's funny to read comments a year after release when I'm finally playing it and I see all this complaining. Apparently Assassin's Creed III was buggy as heck and people were complaining about all this stuff I never encountered such as horses stopping on nothing all the time and stuff like that. It pays to wait with most video games if you want the experience you're intended to get. I realised this when I started buying cod games 3+ months after release so they could have (hopefully) made the game playable. Modern Warfare 3 was so unplayable upon release I actually called Activision and demanded a refund for the worst gaming experience of my life...of course I never got it so I didn't play the game for like 5 months and wouldn't you know it? It played like a dream by then.

Dead Space 3 is Dead Space for pussies. It's a lot of fun to play and looks great but I'm not edge of my seat. Even the regenators aren't getting my pulse going. I'm sure it will be tougher on harder difficulties but necromorphs only killed me once, its only the environment taking me down, specifically the flying through space near the beginning. I was afraid of Dead Space getting too actiony after DS2.
