This has always been the top of my list when it comes to remarques, I remember being completely blown away when you first revealed it.

    (not 1994, by the way)

    EDIT:

Ari, your collection of personally inscribed books always impresses me.

    Yep, 2004. My bad.

And Ari, you are one of the best networkers on this site...you get proofs, inscribed copies etc. You know a lot of the "right" people.

Here are my current "Top 10."

Whelan painting from THE GUNSLINGER. My favorite painting from my favorite specialty press book.

Final galley proof of THE SHINING. My favorite King novel.

"Wimsey" manuscript. 15 typewritten pages of unpublished manuscript.

Letter written by King to Forrest Ackerman at age 14.

First state dust jacket for 'SALEM'S LOT.

    Lettered (asbestos) FIRESTARTER.

Comics Review #3 with two chapters from "I Was a Teen-Age Graverobber." I got King to sign this in 1998.

Stephen Gervais' artwork for the dust jacket for Grant's edition of CHRISTINE.

Salt Hill #1 with King's poem "Dino." I think because this is relatively new and I had so much trouble finding one that this is a current favorite.

A couple of signed/inscribed copies of CARRIE from King's first "official" book signing.

I never get tired of looking at that illustration. Imagine being able to watch it in big size (like the picture). It's simply mesmerizing! Wish Whelan release it as a limited print!

Thanks. The colors in the painting have never been reproduced correctly, IMO. The weird greenish yellow hue is supposed to represent Roland experiencing the early hallucinatory effects of the mescaline. Jerad Walters scanned the painting directly but his very high dollar printer did not have the proper colors to do it so it still isn't quite right in his art book. Jerad said he would have had to invest another $40 grand to get the proper equipment to get the colors just right so, of course, he didn't do that.

This would actually be an amazing project for someone with the right computer skills: creating a virtual (online?) library/museum with all these great items. This would require a tremendous investment from everyone in terms of photographing/scanning things of course so the chances of it actually happening are infinitesimally small... But still!

Hmmm... before I finish my masters degree I have to complete a "Digital Libraries" course in which we create just that on any topic of our choice. Perhaps I could tackle a project such as this when the time comes!

    Default Your Five Favorite Items

Hello all. I know we have a few different threads going in order to show off what we have, but I think it would be nice to have everyone's favorite items all in one place. So, what are your five favorite Stephen King items currently in your collection? Include pictures, a small description, why they are in your top five, etc.

Here are Shannon's top five, in no particular order:

    1. Knowing Darkness: Signed Limited, Traycased Edition with extra set of fold-out prints

    2. The Waste Lands: First Edition with remarque by Ned Dameron - "Flying Monsters"

    3. Skeleton Crew: Signed Limited Edition Pre-Publication Package with framed proof dust jacket

    4. Legacies: Signed Limited Edition (my first Stephen King signature)

    5. It: 25th Anniversary Edition original artwork by Erin Wells - "Georgie Chases His Boat"
