According to Bev Vincent, Stephen King has a new short story coming in the December issue of Playboy.

"MUTE--In a confession to a priest, a traveling salesman tells of his encounter on the Maine turnpike with a deaf-mute hitchhiker to whom he rants about his adulterous wife. "

On Stephen King's website today:

"In November, two new stories by Stephen will be appearing--"Ayana," in the Fall issue of The Paris Review, and "Mute," in the December issue of Playboy."

I for one was not familiar with The Paris Review. I checked their website and here is a blurb about them:

Founded in Paris by Harold L. Humes, Peter Matthiessen, and George Plimpton in 1953, The Paris Review began with a simple editorial mission: "Dear reader," William Styron wrote in a letter in the inaugural issue, "The Paris Review hopes to emphasize creative work—fiction and poetry—not to the exclusion of criticism, but with the aim in mind of merely removing criticism from the dominating place it holds in most literary magazines and putting it pretty much where it belongs, i.e., somewhere near the back of the book. I think The Paris Review should welcome these people into its pages: the good writers and good poets, the non-drumbeaters and non-axe-grinders. So long as they're good."

I did order 2 copies of the Paris Review. Finding Playboy would not be a problem.
I can tell you the postage will cost as much as the magazines.

Cheers Matt and thanks RF!! It wouldn't bother me paying the same cost in postage, it'd just be so cool to get hold of them period. I tried to get Playboy a couple of years ago for a feature by Kevin Smith...but couldn't seem to find that edition over here in the UK.

Let me know nearer the time about costs and stuff - is paypal good for you?
