I'm almost half way through The Dark Tower VII. It's my first time through the series, and I can't believe it took me this long to get around to reading it! One of my favorite stories of all time.

Heather, I also had a bit of a hard time with A Winter Haunting. It definitely had a Henry James feel to it and James has never been one of my favorites. I guess I'm glad I read it, but I don't think it's worth a reread any time soon.

Finished Nightmares and Dreamscapes on my Paperwhite last night (had only listened to the abridged audio version on cassette(!) back in 1994), and started on Dust by Hugh Howey, the final book in his Solo trilogy. I've mentioned this before, but of you have not read this trilogy (Wool, Shift, Dust) I cannot recommend it enough!

Has anyone read any of Ronald Malfi's books? I found them on Amazon and they sound intriguing with decent ratings. I'll probably check one out soon.

I doubt I'll ever reread it. And at least we'll always have Summer of Night.

Here's my spoiler-free review of his most recent book: A Shrill Keening
It'll take your thirty seconds to read the review. I've read a few of his books, Keening was my favourite.

Reading: The Fabulous Riverboat by Farmer. I hope they stop adventuring already and get to explaining things.

Finished Dust by Hugh Howey (wonderful) and started The Talisman by King and Straub. Had tried to read it back when it first came out in the 1980s but couldn't get into it. Had no trouble getting interested this time! Must have something to do with getting old

Just finished The Last Mile by Tim Wagonner. About to start Children of No One by Nicole Cushing. She mentions Alejandro Jodorowsky, Alan Moore and quotes Thomas Ligotti. It looks like it'll have a little more depth than an average novella from Dark Fuse.

Was The Troop good? I've read good things about it, even by King himself.
