I have a widescreen, but it looks fine on mine. Only about an inch of blue on each side.

I am going to ask the artist to adjust the color to more closely match the sites existing background. Of course he is volunteering his valuable time, so I might be using the darker color until he gets to it.
Also it will likely be wider, and whatever the exact domain name that is chosen will be centered.
