The Walking Dead *TV Spoilers!*

Just got done watching the second episode of World Beyond. It's bad, on every level. I'm having a hard time remembering another time when I'm watching a movie or TV show and I'm actively angry because of it. There is not one redeeming quality about this piece of shit. The acting, the actors, the dialogue, the story, the questions. None of it. Every new second becomes my new least favorite second of television.

In the first episode of The Walking Dead, there was a quite beautiful scene where Rick puts the crawling half-zombie out of her misery. In this episode, Iris (the worst character in the history of television) fails to kill a walker, somehow trips into a ravine, has the zombie stuck on a tree, throws up on it, laughs, and walks away. I hope everyone involved with this show gets Covid.

AGREED. This will not be ordered for a second season.

This may be the hardest thing I've ever tried to watch. Man, it's bad.

Have you caught up? Or did you not experience the huge rebound in quality the past two seasons? IMO this is the best run the show has had and getting all this covid time to plan the series Endgame means it should go out on a high note.

It's clear that even Matt is over this show.

I'm saying this everywhere and hopefully, it catches on. This show has done this in the past and it just doesn't work. You can't have episodes that only focus on a few characters. Besides Carol and Daryl, the other characters just aren't strong enough. If Game of Thrones can swap between dozens of characters and storylines within an hour (or so) long episode, then there's no reason why this show can't do it.

That's how it was on the comics. A bunch of new characters come in the last 20 issues. But it's a pretty good story. Not sure how it'll get adapted without Rick and Dwight.

I think that some of this has to do with filming in a Covid world. It's easier to have multiple film crews filming small groups of people. This might be the case here. Not an excuse, just an observation.

They did it a lot in Season 4b when everyone was separated. Season 6a when everyone got separated when the horde surrounded Alexandria. Season 7 kind of did it throughout because of all the new locations they had to establish.

I don't really have a problem with that kind of storytelling though. Some episodes end up weaker, but that format allows for some fantastic episodes and I'm okay with that. There's lots of reasons production wise why they do it and I get that.

It just feels like it was forced this year. They had just gotten through the whisperers, and if memory serves me beating a big baddie usually brings them together for a time? Good memory, by the way.

Yeah....pretty bad....reminded me of the episode "Carl eats a big can of pudding".

And I could really do without the opening "character narration" they've been doing the last few episodes.

I used to love this show....and now I am sad I kind of hate it.
