feev! great minds...
well i liked him as Legolas... but i've never read LotR

good to know we're all on the same page.

He looked the part just fine for Legolas, but he's a terrible actor and he overdid it in practically every scene he was in.
oh well yes of course... I always said Pirates of the Carribean would be great if it weren't for him and Kiera Knightley.... fortunately they've both refused to do anymore (as if they were really wanted) :smh:

Daniel Craig for Roland
you know i started to entertain the idea of Craig for Roland after i watched Casino Royale, but i don't want to give up my Hugh Laurie so i say Craig can play Walter maybe...

ok, lets have a worst case scenario.
what if... the movie was made by WWE films?
Roland:
Eddie:
Susannah:
Jake:

Yeah, so whoever they end up choosing, just remember it could have been worse

Who would you guys like to see direct a Dark Tower film?
I know Abrams crew have the rights but I would still love to see a Dark Tower film directed by Guy Pearce
I was watching the end of Kingdom of Heaven (gimme a break, I like big battle scenes) and my husband says, "That's Legolas. And Will Turner. And the same character I've ever seen Orlando Bloom play...EVER."
He's headed down the road Keanu Reeves has already paved.
There are some pretty impressive lists. Cleese as Dandelo is a decent choice and after watching House a lot lately, I think I can get on the Hugh-for-Roland train (Daniel Day Lewis is still my #1 choice, though!)

I WOULD BUST A NUT IF KEVIN NASH WAS IN THE GUNSLINGER!
NASH = THE MAN
Okay sorry, I'm a big fan haha. Nash is epic since the old WCW days. The Silver Fox, The Giant Killer, Big Sexy.
I honest to God don't know, but me and my cousin came up with a joke cast once. Lets see...we had Christopher Walken as Roland, Whoopi Goldberg as Susannah, Justin Timberlake as Eddie, and Macaulay Culkin as Jake.
Tiffany thank you for also wanting Daniel Day Lewis for Roland.
Also even though I've seen Gary Oldman as Flagg/Walter. I could def bet behind Robert Carlyle. He would def be able to pull it off.
Jim Carey can play Clint Eastwood Playing Roland
I'm a newbie here, but I've been a fellow traveller with Roland since the first book was published. At the time it annoyed me that we didn't reach the tower by the end of that book
If I could play anybody it would be Father Callaghan.
He has real depth and resonates throughout the tale, with the back links to Salem's Lot. He is a huge part of the story arc and as much a part of Roland's Ka Tet as anybody. I admire his moral courage and conviction.
That's a good choice Ste, I would love to play Callahan as well.
And welcome to the site.

Thanks Mat,
I loved the realisation FC had when he realised he never had to justify himself to Barlow in SL.
Also the scenes with FC and Jake in the Dixie Pig.
I'd likely be Cuthbert... I think he's the closest to my actual personality, plus the physical description matches:
"I aim to misbehave."
-- Malcolm Reynolds
"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar."
-- Hoban Washburne
"What does that make us?"
"Big damn heroes, sir."
"Ain't we just."
-- Malcolm Reynolds and Zoe Washburne
Good to see you, Steve.
Roland would have understood.
based on my looks I would probably be a random villager somewhere, or the voice of Oy

after watching supernatural i think jensen ackles would be a good choice for eddie.
This is a monster thread so I thought I would just pop in my 2 cents and someone who has followed most of this can tell me if any of these have been mentioned yet.
I kind of like the Hugh Laurie idea. Clint is definitely to old but did anyone ever mention Tommy Lee Jones? He sadly is also probably a bit too old but damn, he has the temperament. Josh Brolin? Maybe. He doesn't really blow my skirt up.
For Suze it needs to be Angela Basset.
She can shoot a gun and she has that regal quality about her that she will need. Also she's a damn fine actress.
As for Eddie, I don't know. He's a tough one. Shia Lebeouf comes to mind, especially after some of his recent films. He has decent comedic timing and he already has the benefit of being in several action flicks. He's also a bit of a f*ckup so he's got that going for him... which is nice.
