I was surprised to see we had no dedicated Ursula K. Le Guin thread, but these are some great-looking books coming out:

Didn't want to start a new thread just for this, and I think I saw someone in this thread post about Arthur C. Clarke, so I was surprised to learn there appears to be no single-volume omnibus edition...
Not technically an author I collect, but didn't know where else to stick this. Very exciting news for me, as I just found out that Robin Buss's amazing translation of The Count of Monte Cristo is...
Holy shit!
Very nice, but I like my set better. I'll have to remember to take and post some pics.[/QUOTE]
Which set is that? I'd love to see it. This is supposedly a very good translation, brand new.
I like lavish reprints and new translation of classics, so it was with great excitement that I found out about Penguin's new three-volume hardcover complete Arabian Nights set. Then I saw it was...
A new story by Palahniuk too? He doesn't publish too many short stories.
Haruki Muarakami's first two novels never published in English outside Japan and out of print there since the 1990s are back in print!

I'm not sure, but I think there won't be a slipcase. I have their two-volume collection of Lovecraft's and August Derleth's letters called Essential Solitude, and it has no slipcase. And I don't...
That Lovecraft biography I told you about before? Well it's finally available for pre-order: http://www.hippocampuspress.com/lovecraft/i-am-providence.html
It's a limited two-volume hardcover...
For those collecting Lovecraft, like myself, I posted this in the HPL thread but maybe people here don't look over there very often, but there will be a huge two-volume limited edition Lovecraft...
I just started collecting John Updike and was suprised to see most of his books still in print. I mean the original hardcovers. Even Couples, which was published in 1968. Freely available on Amazon....
I'm surprised at how cheap these are. Especially Updike's. Most of his hardcovers seem to be in print (at least they're in stock at Amazon), and can be had for five bucks and under like new. Strange....
I just recently started collecting Kurt Vonnegut and John Updike 1st editions.
A friend's grandmother has several books from the 1820s. They're in immaculate condition. I wonder what those bastards could fetch.
Would it be possible for us to get a peek inside that book? I love old books.
The hardcover blurb is missing all the comparisons to other novels.
It's on the back of the hardcover as well:

I would say "a fascinating mix of Japanese history, folklore, surrealism, and modern day middle class ennui" pretty must nails it. You can read up on the man here:...
Murakami is a very unique voice. I highly recommend his earlier novel The Wild Sheep Chase, which I just procured in a first edition for only $30 (they routinely go for at least twice that). Some of...
