Since I've expanded on this in countless other threads, I'll just say that both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are much, much more than simply 'good comic book/batman movies'.

The only ones from your list I'd place above Nolan because of their filmography alone are Kurosawa, Bergman, and Kubrick. He's just as good, or perhaps better than Scorsese, Scott, Fellini,...
