For me it had to be in IV when Rhea's horse starts quickly and throws her back with her legs in the air. Nice slapstick.
The TV series was definitely "Low Budget Night at The Apollo" Something along the line of The Walking Dead FX would have helped. I forget exactly, but there was a scene where someone was being chased...
I tried rereading The Stand but couldn't get the rancid TV Mini-Series out of my head. All I could picture was Molly Ringwald, Corin Nemic, and Gary Sinese.
I like that too. Gives his books a homespun feel. You can learn a lot about King just by reading them.
Of all the books in the world, I've only collected/bought/stored TDT series. I feel like I have some good investment of my life waiting for the series to finish. After III I was left waiting for 6...
My fondness for 4.5 is based on the story within a story within a story. We also get introduced to further characters such as Bix and are left wondering if he made it through the starkblast.
BTW,...
That's because you didn't have to wait 20 years for the ending. :)
For me it was when Rhea's horse started too fast and she was thrown backwards with her feet in the air.
I discovered TDT just after The Wastelands was published. Of course then I had to wait over a decade for the conclusion. I was upset over VII and the ending and didn't read King for several years....
The scene in W&G in which Rhea gets knocked off the seat of her pony cart. Shoes flying straight up!
