Money definitely is not the issue - the issue is it’s going to be a standard sub press book. It’s 8x8, no slipcase. Seems like a money grab to me.
Lettered sold out. Unbelievable. I don’t even think I’m getting the limited.
By that logic, everyone who drives Mercedes Benz E-class sedan could have gotten S-class with ease. Or perhaps Mercedes should entirely get rid of E-class line and sell C-class and S-class. Everyone...
Lol Kris I’m with you. Antiquarian - they were already far, far out of reach for 99% of collectors. 2-3k more isn’t going to hurt someone who can spend 12.5.
I wholeheartedly disagree. Had there been an auction on Friday - none of this would have occurred. It would have been a fair way for all collectors to bid on the books, fulfill an obligation he made,...
Great points Bill - and as an aside I have reviewed the Haven Foundations form 990 as filed with the IRS. The last reported filing was indeed in 2017 and none have been filed since which supports...
I disagree. We do not know the entire story.
Maybe it was planned by the Shining Subterranean Press contract/release?
For clarity and thoroughness, I believe it should be included in the...
I understand overruns, I do. it protects the publisher and the consumer in case of damaged books. Also I understand unnumbered copies get out. But usually they are the same book. My issue is with all...
My question is why was the customer base not notified at the time of publication that these rogue copies were going to be produced then? Sub press sold the limited edition under the pretense of 52...
I mean if Haven is a registered 5013(c) in the US it’s anyones business who cares to look it up. Just look at their 990 filing and you can see where the money goes.
I’m guessing haven accepted the donation due to the fact they’ve published Kings books in the past. I’m sure Haven is well funded with the boatloads of cash king makes each year.
So what are the details on this thing? Anyone know?
The limited editions were only $75, so I wouldn't mind paying extra for a slipcase.
"Only"...?
Man, I remember when $40 was the default S/L pricing...it's been inching up for years...
Couldn't plop down 700 on two lettereds in the same day so I got both RP1's and s/l martian.
While I agree that CD's production quality is a hair better, those points are both your opinion, not fact.
I didn't say they were fact.
The art on the King books was better, the production quality will most likely be better.
I know the book is famous but 150 for an artist signature doesn't do it for me.
Yeah not sure I'm getting this one. Not enough appeal for me.
What's the outlook on this guy? Not read much about him.
