When seeing them in the theater I thought part II was a disappointment. I just rewatched them and now feel that part II is the better of the two movies.

If its a series then I can't see how it wouldn't be someone else picking up the Amazon series. Why bother starting all over when they have something good set up with a pilot already filmed.

The audiences for these 2 films are so wildly different. The buzz on IT is large but it's still an R rated horror film. DT will be a PG-13 fantasy adventure film.

It's not that it wasn't good enough they just didn't have the time and the studio decided not to rush it. It shows they have faith in the movie and also that they think it can survive in the summer...
