The reason is very apparent. D&D were bought out by Disney. HBO wanted 10 episodes. D&D jumped ship in reaction to the strong arm of the Mouse and the loot that came with it. They literally Sold...

I have to disagree on one point... the characters will end up in a VERY different place than on the show.

Just watched it. Not as bad as I was expecting. And like Servant said.... neither was Lost. Did they miss opportunities? Oh shit yeah.... many. Did they screw up some characters arcs? Yep. 100%. ...

LOL was not a theory though... it was someone that worked on the show stating so. That is called: A lie.

At all. I had no idea what I was watching half the time. And when it started to snow it beaver laughable. The white walker story line was one of my favourites and your right... just a sad ending to...

I just cannot believe after all this time waiting for this...:that was what we got... I just can’t shake it. So disappointed

This begs the question; why did HBO cut the seasons so short? Couldn't they have given 2 full seasons to allow the final stretch room to breath?

My BIGGEST issue with this show. The abundance of plot lines to keep straight. At times I feel lost... lol
