I haven't looked at this thread in a dog's age and have bought a few hundred lp's between now and then. I've discovered I'm more of a hardware junkie and recently replaces my Dual 1229 turntable with...
Didn't go, I'm still at work so there was no way I could make it. Lots that sounded interesting but I wasn't so hot on the idea of standing in line for hours or fighting for records with people who...
Yeah one of my hauls included some late 80's rap in fantastic shape. Eazy-e, Ice Cube, NWA, Kid n Play, I got 6 or 8 all told.
Nope! That's a Value Village special, it's actually a head board that I ran vertically rather than horizontally. It's not perfect, but for $12? No complaints.
I have been entirely absent from these boards for what feels like ages. But, I've been busy with my vinyl collection and it's almost doubled in size due to a few big purchases.
We haven't really...
I picked up a huge lot of 200+ 33's last night, and a small stack of 45's. I will admit, the VAST majority of it is shit, but the price seemed right and I'll probably end up keeping only 30 or so.
Wow what an offer! If shipping weren't a nightmare for me I would take you up on that. Very generous Bill, someone jump on this!
There are a LOT of musicians producing new music on vinyl, and as a medium there's no compression (like there is with mp3's) that aside, it tends to go hand in hand with a better quality stereo...
I would advise that you stay away from the Crosley turntable/all in one units. I know a few members have them here, and I mean no disrespect, I've just heard they're really not good for your vinyl,...

Have you felt the 180 gram stuff? It feels glorious, especially compared to some of the lightweight 70's vinyl.
Fair warning, I've heard that Crosley turntable's lack of counter balance on the tone arm, lack of anti-skating, and cartridge/needle type can ALL damage your records. It might be perfect for you as...
WDIL, Are you sitting on any of these? I would be interested in hearing your band on vinyl, but it wouldn't need to be any limited edition.
I picked this up yesterday for a pittance, needs a thorough cleaning and relubricating before it gets put to use.

Needfulthings, that is *quite* the collection. Why the fascination with film soundtracks as opposed to traditional albums?
WeDealInLead, Care to share? I'm all for turning this into a "new vinyl...
I'm using a Sony hp-480 with a Dual 1010 turntable (early 70's), into a Pioneer receiver and out to some vintage technic floor speakers. I have my parents collection of Vinyl, as well as 20/30 that...
That looks as though it should come with a horn! It's interesting how minimal it's all become and how far away we've shifted away from furniture pieces.
I did some digging for you Stroppy and found someone what seems to be the complete set of Mp3's from that obscure album. You can see the track listing's here:

Interesting that you moved on, sold the turntable but kept the vinyl. Are you hoping so sell one day, or did you intend to purchase a new turntable?
