Does anyone know if ebay seller mlspeakerman is a member here?
Or if anyone has bought from them and has a contact email? They have an item I am interested in, but would like to deal outside of eBay...
Here is my bookplate from that limited...

No he doesn’t.
$130K On one of these jackets. AND yes that story is true... they jacked the price from Carrie's $5.95 to $8.95... King didn't think it would sell.. so they settled at $7.95. Only about 8 of...
Is this true? Were these dust jackets never part of an actual release?
All the original $8.95 dust jackets were used. They had been printed and ready to go. Then at the last minute King...
Not sure why you are referring to it as a 'prototype' Kerry? It's the original dust jacket that is unclipped and not had a new price printed on it. All 2nd state jackets are in fact 1st state jackets...

I think you've been had - see the "this was available on April 1st when it was posted"
The thing that drove the price up for this book was the fact it was originally only available through a 'prize draw' - you could not buy directly like the other books you mention. Very few copies...
I have no clue what the market value would be for that but it is exceedingly rare to find one of those 1st state dust jackets.
Note: This is NOT a new find of a 1st edition Salem's DJ....
aaaand I still don't get why Volume 1 goes for more than Volume 2. They are both out of print, both have the same limitation and if you want one, why would you not want the other? (equally desirable)...
never ceases to amaze me what this book will fetch in ANY condition...
I already have a nice full set of US 1st editions, plus the UK 1sts that I purchased as they were released. I just thought it was cool to have the original set with the screensaver.
Thanks RF. Cost me more in postage but what the hell....
