Roland!
Eddie appeals to the smartass, sarcastic cynical side of me, but in all honesty there wouldnt be a Dark Tower without Roland

Its gotta be Roland...he is the heart of the ka-tet, even if it appears at times he lacks one. If it was not for him, the ka-tet would not have come together...however it is through them that Roland grows and is able to develop into the individual he is by the end of Book VII.
Roland, Roland, Roland, Roland, Roland. :)
Roland is the reason I kept reading the series to its end. Roland is the reason I love the series. Roland is such a badass!
The Coming of the White!
Did anyone notice the parallels between Susannah and Beverley Marsh?
In a mostly male group, they are the only females and are also both the best shot (Roland says this a number of times in DT).
Roland, I think he encompassed aspects of all the ka-tet. I saw Jake, Eddie and Susannah in Roland - so I feel I can choose them all in some way through him.
That and the simple fact that he, as a fictional character, managed to affect me so much.
Roland, he always seemed to remind me of the parts of myself that I am both most proud and ashamed.
This was a hard one to call. I ended up not picking Roland because he is the one with the story I want to follow, but my favorite character was always Eddie. His fight against Balthazar et al was the defining moment for me with his character. Fucked up beyond all belief, tired as hell, naked, and with some supernatural phenomenon appearing and helping him out, he still managed to not get shot and somehow kill a metric crapton of dudes (see how I cleaned that up? LOL)
Roland. Hands down. I totally get how his mind works - which should scare me, in a way, but it doesn't, really. :D
Okay why isn't Oy listed?
Hmmm...good question. Maybe animal love is not as pure as the people love.
*Doesn't touch that one with a 100 hundred foot pole*
A wise decision, CK :D
Seriously though, Oy should be listed!
Oy takes a close second (with Jake right there too)
XIX
I say Jake. As a child he is forced to carry out and perform deeds that would make most adults piss themselves in fear. He's brave and intelligent and doesn't care to sacrifice himself in time of need.
:nods:
Jake knew how to "stand"
I choose Oy. Roland is sort of a given. It's his world after all, he just drew the rest into it.
And I'm not sure why I say Oy, but my guess is loyality. His love for Jake and subsequently the rest of the Ka-tet is so pure and unquestioned.
Well I come from alabama with my banjo on my knee
And Im bound for louisiana, my own true love for to see
It did rain all night the day I left
The weather was bone dry
The sun was so hot I froze myself
Suzanne, dont you go on and cry
I said, oh, suzannah
Now, dont you cry for me
As I come from alabama with this banjo on my knee
Well I had myself a dream the other night
When everything was still
I dreamed that I saw my girl suzanne
She was coming around the hill
Now, the buckwheat cake was in her mouth
A tear was in her eye
I said, that I come from dixie land
Suzanne, dont you break down and cry
I said, oh, suzannah
Now, dont you cry for me
cause I come from alabama with my banjo on my knee
No way.
way.
(the)
Roland on the top, he's been with me the longest, followed closely by Eddie. I'm also a smart ass jerk.
Then Oy, of course...
Nothing is "of course" here. ;) :D
