2013 "Halloween Costume" reveal and contest!!!

Halloween, is still a few days away, but we here at TDT.Org, always start early. Those who have chosen to adopt "Costumes" for the better part of the month, please participate. I propose that, if you are willing, on Nov 1st, you begin to "reveal" who you were, why and how effective you or others thought your "costume" was on the boards. Perhaps, as a result, the "Mods" can add a "Costume Poll" midway through.

In any case, we all had a few "laughs" and "Confused" moments, but now, as Mr. King has written, it is "Midnight and the masks come off".

Participation is strictly "voluntary". Enjoy!!!

Besides, "Merlin1958" is really "in charge"!!! LOL

Maybe just keep the poll "Thread related" then we do not piss anyone off.

oops, sorry Bill, I lost track of the calendar, I didn't realize we would be demasqued so soon... I think we should do the contest next year, then, being prepared... I am really very sad that I didn't do anything this year, it just all happened so quickly

We all find the Halloween dress up fun, Bill - but everyone pretty much knew who everyone was so there wasn't much to guess this time around. Plus, it'd be tricky to do a contest as you just look at people's previous posts - especially if they get quoted by someone else in a post, as it shows their original username ;)

"Best costume" doesn't have to mean "most effective disguise."
If you want, we could have categories (e.g. "cutest," scariest," etc.) enough to give everybody an award, the way they do at little children's parties.

Not necessarily everybody: if you try hard and have talent for fake mannerisms, you could conceivably fool people... although trying that hard to act differently so well doesn't actually sound real fun to me.

Thanks; I thought that would sound funny. But, really, applauding a most creative theme is a fair idea, I think. Dunno about an actual poll... if we could just get everyone to gather in one thread by pre-planned announcements and such next year, however, and motivate talk about what each "wore" and whose choices seemed especially worthwhile, it's likely some consensus would emerge. Of a rough sort, anyway. But rough consensus might be good enough... unless you want to give out some kind of actual prize. For simply encouraging better efforts, though, all we probably need to do is to say matter-of-factly, "We're all really interested this year to see each other's best efforts."
