Sorry, pablo, my bad. I should have checked. Apologies.

Sorry, pablo, my bad. I should have checked. Apologies.
Not at all, no worries. See if you can nominate some others for the remaining spots in other decades.
Thanks. How about these :
Bonanza - 1959.
The Big Valley - 1965.
Laverne and Shirley - 1976.
Good choices! We now have just one nomination left for the 1980s and 1970s! Make it count, people. Two more for the 1960s and four for 1950s.
Then, we poll :)
bears love polling
they suspect everybody does
I'm actually surprised not to see more Westerns included.
If I can add more?
The Rifleman - 1958. ( Mark! Mark! Paw! Paw! Jonah. Lucas. )
Wagon Train - 1957.
LA Law - 1986.
So now we're set with our last three decades of TV series! Good job, everyone. Now just a handful more for our first three decades.
The framework for the polls will be as follows:
- We will have one poll from each decade open twice a week, and each will run for a week.
- Each decade will have its nominees randomized several times by random.org.
- After each round those nominees advancing will again be randomized several times.
- When only one nominee remains in each decade there will be a round-robin playoff to determine the overall winner where each series will face one another with the winner receiving 1 point (the one to receive the most points obviously wins).
I'm really excited!! :D
Let's get this started already !! :excited:
Are we able to have 2 votes for an option? It might diversify the results a bit.
pablo - thanks so much for taking this on. It's epic and I'm really looking forward to it.
:grouphug:
1950s - The Mickey Mouse Club, The Untouchables
1960s - The Patty Duke Show, The Fugitive
1970s - The Jeffersons
Okay? Good to go?
You rock, path. Good to go indeed!
Okay so all our nominations are set!
A note on the format:
All decades will go through five rounds. The decades with 32 nominees, the 1990s and the 2000s, will have Round 1 (16 brackets) and Round 2 (8 brackets) of one-on-one votes to whittle the number down to 8. That will be the Quarter-Finals (4 brackets). Then the Semi-Finals, and finally the Final. All one-one-one votes.
The other decades, ones with 24 nominees, will have a slightly different process. Round 1 (12 brackets) will be the same, one-on-one. Round 2 will consist of 4 brackets of three series, with the top two moving on. There will be Quarter-Finals (4 brackets) of one-one-one votes. This proceeds the same with Semi-Finals and Final as the 32-nominations decades.
I hope that makes sense. I've given this a lot of thought and I think I've come up with a good balanced system. It might take a while, sure, but are we really in any hurry? Who doesn't love polls?
Holy God, this is going to be so epic. This is awesome.
Epic is a word I'd use as well :)
Do you already have an idea of how you're going to sort them, Pablo ?
Oh, and when can we start !?!? :excited:
We've already begun! And sorting is done with a list randomizer at random.org.
Yeah I just saw the threads
I stickied the threads too, btw.
OMG! This is so awesome. Just answering the polls is so much fun. I have watched a boat-load of television in my life. I lived for re-runs so I'm pretty sure I've seen every show mentioned, from all the decades. Thanks again, pablo!
Path - Thank you for Patty Duke. I can't believe I missed that one.
The plan is to have two waves of five polls open on Mondays and Wednesdays. What does everyone think of having new polls open three times a week? Would that be too much? It's just that we do have a lot to get through, and that would keep it fresh. On the other hand, it could be somewhat overwhelming.
I like the idea of more polls ... but I do log on multiple times a day, usually every day, so it wouldn't be so overwhelming for me.
If there will be no complaints, then we can do three waves of five polls on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
