It's streaming on Hulu, so I would suggest watching it but be prepared to cry. I'm surprised it's not more popular and garnering more votes, I saw it around 1999 and it was already a well-known film at that point. First time watching it I was completely in tears and so depressed afterwards, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I have seen it a number of times since and it never fails to emotionally wound me, even when I know all the sad and painful things that will happen. Just the first notes of the main theme is enough to nearly bring me to tears. It's such a powerful film. It should not be eliminated in the second round by average movies like Lethal Weapon and Creepshow, and even The Fly, which I adore. It's a film that should be going very far in this tournament, but it seems that won't be happening, a shame. Again, it's streaming on Hulu now, so if you've never seen it or never even heard of it, now is the time. It's truly a film anyone who considers themselves a fan of film should see. Whether it will have the same effect on you as me, I don't know, but I can't see anyone not coming away appreciating this film.
