What is the value of a Near Fine UK 1st Edition of The Shining?
Thanks Alan!
I have one more... what are Dr. Sleep signed first edition going for these days?
You rock!! Thanks again.
Hello there !
I have been given a copy of Carrie First NEL edition to value and sell for a local animal charity and have no idea of how to value such an item.
It seems to be a rare copy to come across so any advice would be grateful
Thanks

I believe it's first NEL hardcover edition 1974 (New English Library) not an American first edition.
I am actually a woman.
have seen one that sold for £300 so I don't believe it to be worthless man. Sorry
That looks like a library binding (doesn't have an actual dust jacket on the book). As was stated elsewhere, these books have little to no value.
The one thing that interests me is the First NEL Hardcover edition 1974 in the copyright page. Did the printers of the library binding books do so with actual Firsts of the book, or were they allowed to just reprint the original in it's entirety?
It looks like a Turtleback or similar hard/library binding.
What's the going rate for The Stand S/L????
Hey Bill - David just sold #252 for $2450; #673 is on eBay now for $2500 OBO, might throw an offer of $2200 and see what you can work out (I have no idea who the seller is).Quote:

Although I agree Kris wasn't rude, the OP is a new member here and it may have been better to explain WHY it wasn't considered a first.
In fact I disagree entirely. This looks to be a an actual First but has had the (very common at the time) UK library practice of sealing the cover to the boards. This is not a separate printing or 'Turtleback'. I have owned one of these in the past and I don't consider it 'worthless' at all. It is certainly less desirable than a 1st with the DJ still separate but for a book that had such a low qty on release as a first print, the majority of which went to UK libraries, this book still has value. I would rate it around $200 - 300.
Welcome to the boards! :) You will see a lot of different opinions and personalities here and its hard to discern sarcasm, rudeness and/or outright friendliness from a chat board!
As you can see, various opinions and values will be tossed about! Stick with it and you will find the good ones quick enough.
If your copy was not so dirty, I would of bought it for the prices suggested above!
Anyone seen any signed Doctor Sleep values recently? Was hoping for the movie to put the value up so I can sell mine and find myself a really nice Christmas present. I do have it in a CD slipcase. Thanks!
What would you guys say the value is for the LPP Revival Proof?
