Haha. You know this was modeled on the original wooden crates/boxes that the Royal 10 typewriters came in. They used the PICA point system.

If there was a top 10 list of the best lettered editions of all time, this edition would definitely be on the list. Absolutely stunning.
So many creative design ideas in that edition, and executed brilliantly. No doubt an iconic piece of SK publishing history.
Thanks for posting the pics, Becca!
Happy Holidays, folks. I posted this message a few weeks ago and received some great help from two amazing members looking for a copy of this book for me. I’ve only really looked hard for a handful of books in my entire life, and this one is proving to be monstrously challenging. I won’t say impossible, simply because, like in many of Steve’s novels, weird coincidences do happen. I know it’s one of the most expensive King books out there, but I’m willing to pay for it. If I were not a very serious buyer, I wouldn’t be wasting anyone’s time posting here - I assure you.
I figured someone might be willing to make this collector’s 2020 and come out with a $XX,XXX+ cash pay day...and I’m willing to negotiate! This book means a lot to me on a deeply personal level. It’s not so much the story itself (which I loved, btw), but what it meant to me growing up and starting my love of Stephen King’s works - and sharing that with my family. If anyone has a copy you’re willing to part with, message me and let me know. Thanks everyone!
Know that an open-ended offer like that certainly gets your attention and makes you take notice; if you're serious and you want one, that's certainly the way to go about getting it. I hope you're successful in your quest ... but for now my copy remains at home (and still unopened ... who else can say that!).Quote:

That would be a good title for a short story! It's more about not having what I would consider a completely safe place to display it; two kids, a dog, and a wife that insists on cleaning my bookcases. Last month she dropped a hundred year old ceramic storage pot cover onto a thousand year old Mayan bowl, both of which I thought were safe on top of a bookcase. Grrrrrrr.Quote:
So is your copy a Schrodinger's Misery...don't let the cat outta the box...
For aromatherapy I use Balvenie 14 Year Caribbean Cask, Aberlour A'Bunadh, Jameson Black Barrel Reserve Select, and Grind. Especially Grind.Quote:
You’re missing out, man! At least once a week I need a little lettered Misery aromatherapy to restore my sanity. The smell of that book will cure what ails you.
Any update of ownership since last year?

Congrtas Alec.
I have an offer for one of these at 23k.
I bet he would go to $25k. He really wants one. I find it fascinating the response to this production.
