Seven Samurai for the win here - it is a true masterpiece of cinema. Having a Hitchcock and Kurosawa final would be a fitting end to this tournament.

7S is a technical masterpiece, and 12AM touches on some really complex (especially at the time) themes and uses literary devices brilliantly.

Either one of these is worthy of advancing to the final me thinks.

I'm going with 12AM.

12 Angry Men. The camera work in that film is masterful. It'll be interesting to have it go up against Rear Window, which also has excellent camera work.

I can still hear the "not guilty... NOT GUILTY (sobs)" in my head. Gods what a great movie.

Has 12 Angry Men ever been adapted as a play on Broadway? Seems like it would be simple as there would only need to be one set.

Yes, it has been on Broadway. There have been numerous adaptations over the years. 12 Angry Men began as a teleplay on television, then a play, then a film. There was even an interesting film done in 1997 which had a much more diverse cast, and even cast a black man as Juror 10, the most racist character in the play - very interesting reimagining.

Over the years, the play has been rewritten and adapted into: 12 Angry Jurors, 12 Angry Men and Women, and 12 Angry Women.
