Yeah remember how I said yesterday there are no easy choices left at this point. This is one, for sure. AH should not even be here at this stage, let alone challenge arguably one of the best films ever made.

The meeting between Michael and Sollozo is one of the most captivating things I've ever seen on film. You can see the weight of what he's about to do physically manifest itself on Michael's face.

Honestly, don't care for movies that romanticize organized crime. I'd rather laugh.

Not gonna debate that it glorifies violence, but just judging it off of that is an undersell. It does storytelling so well on both an intimate and operatic level.

Some might say there's not much distance between Dean Wormer and an organized crime boss.

I wouldn't say I "just judged" it on that. It was just the deciding factor. I have voted for it in every round up to now. If these two movies were on tv at the same time, no doubt about it I would watch Animal House. Thus it gets my vote. Several people have stated or implied that Animal House doesn't deserve a single vote, and I am just explaining why I disagree.

For the record, I do have the Godfather trilogy on Blu-ray (it was a blind buy, based on its reputation), while I did enjoy the movie(s), I have no desire to ever see them again.

The Godfather has 70% of the votes. There's no chance of Animal House moving on.

By default I voted for Animal House because I'm one of the few that didn't care for The Godfather. I've thought about trying to give it another shot, but honestly I highly doubt I will, there's so many other films I'd rather watch.

That's fair enough. Hyperbolic statement aside, I think we were more in utter disbelief that AH was level with in votes against one of the greatest films of all time.

The Godfather is as much about family as it is organized crime.

That's like saying Rocky is just about boxing.

Hell yeah, go for it. Try and forget about all the outside noise before you watch it. Forget about 'Best Movie of All Time', forget about how Important or Influential it may be, forget about people like me blabbering on and on about it. Just embrace the film on its own terms.
