Remember when we judged a movie on what was shown in the theater?
Good times.
Remember when people communicated using more than just condescension and sarcasm?
Also good times
Read all of my posts on this thread and you’ll see I’m clearly a fan and want to be optimistic. Rogue One and Titanic were shit shows until the day of release and they’re both fantastic films. Believe it or not, I’m capable of compartmentalizing my passion for the film and the 57 year old cycle of 007 film production’s escalating bts drama with each subsequent actor.
On 2nd thought, you’re right. Condescension and sarcasm is more fun. See you on opening night
Usually the daily mail or British rags that are constantly trying to have a go at the Bond films thru the years. It’s almost tradition at this point
And the director Cary offered the following as proof that he wasn’t gaming. He said his RDR2 progress has been stuck at 62% for months, so obviously he wasn’t playing.
As a fellow gamer, I’m guessing you had the same thought as me upon hearing that...just bc your progress is the same doesn’t mean you weren’t playing. Probably just hunting or gambling instead of campaign. Regardless, still hilarious that a grown ass adult who directed the hell out of True Detective S1 had to issue a public statement to assure everyone he wasn’t playing PS4 when he was supposed to be at work
I know we’re all still reeling bc Grace Jones quit on her first day of filming bc she wasn’t given enough lines (oh the humanity), but yesterday one of the biggest and the baddest was seen wandering about the set. His presence will most definitely shake up (not stir) everyone’s predictions on Lea Seydoux’s screen time as well as Rami Malek’s role in the flick
Spoiler: 07-15-2019 09:10 PMJoe315Any thoughts on the potential new 007?
I’m just happy she’s not going to be called Jane bond or something similar. Interesting to see where they’ll go with this. 07-15-2019 09:17 PMHunchback JackYes, it's an interesting one. Are they planning to continue with her as 007 as the next "Bond" film, or planning a spin-off series with her as 007, and reboot Bond again? Or will she die in Bond 25 and it's all just a massive tease?
Time will tell. 07-16-2019 07:53 AMEarl of PopkinOfficial synopsis from EON stated that Bond is retired at the beginning of the film, so I would guess that she’s the new 007 that replaced his vacant position. Should be fun to see the interaction between the two as James is most likely sucked back into MI6 a la Godfather 3.
Fleming (The woke chap that he is) once said the women in Bond’s life can only sleep with him, betray him, or get killed bc of him. (Cept moneypenny apparently) Curious to see if they’ll stick to the formula here. At the very least I think we can rule out the underwhelming Spectre twist where we discover James and the new 007 are siblings... 07-16-2019 07:54 AMKongoA lot of headlines about it I feel have been purposely misleading. Making it seem as if she's been cast as the new "James Bond", when she's just taking his old call sign. We all know Daniel Craig is pretty much done with the series, so if anything they might do spin offs with her? Or like Hunchback Jack mentioned, it's all just a tease 07-17-2019 01:31 PMMattrickI think if she is supposed to be the future going forward, they totally dropped the ball on this. Why would they name her 007 instead of a different code name? 007 is synonymous with Bond. They could've made her 001 or 009 or something, and still had 007 as Bond. Seems like an easy way to have a cinematic universe, with this new MI6 agent crafted her own legacy, and they can have a team up movie in the future too. Fumbled the potential for a cinematic universe for a headline. OUCH. 07-18-2019 01:50 PMamd013 07-18-2019 02:12 PMEarl of PopkinI’ve really enjoyed both of Anthony Horowitz’s Bond books. House of silk and Moriarty are fun reads as well. Really enjoy his work 08-20-2019 12:54 PMfernandito 08-20-2019 04:47 PMHunchback JackI like it.

HBJ 12-04-2019 05:48 AMmae 12-04-2019 08:46 AMM_O_O_N"The world has moved on, Commander Bond." 12-04-2019 09:23 AMfernanditoI like that Lea Seydoux's character is being carried over onto this film and it will apparently be of some consequence. Too many times Bond girls are just cheap throwaway characters.
Loving the cinematography. Fukunaga has always had a great eye for visuals. 12-04-2019 12:07 PMamd013 12-06-2019 10:27 AMMattrickThe trailer didn't blow me away, but I don't really need much motivation to go see Bond. Fukunaga is fantastic and I still mourn his departure from IT. I still haven't watched Spectre though because of the bad WOM. I've never watched Quantum of Solace either for the same reason. I hold Bond in such esteem I try to avoid watching the bad ones to not sully the name. 12-06-2019 04:01 PMfernanditoQuantum of Solace isn't bad, it's just underwhelming. It has weak-villain issues.
Spectre is pretty bad though. It does however have a fantastic set piece that takes place inside a train. 12-07-2019 01:00 AMHunchback JackI thought Spectre was fine. It was no Skyfall, but I really enjoyed it in the theater.
I didn’t watch the trailer but I will see Craig as Bond any day of the week. He’s not Bond as Fleming wrote him, but he’s a Bond for our times. I’m glad he’s doing a fifth one, but I also hope that this is his last. I don’t think we’ll get a better Bond next time around, but I think Craig is done with the role. 12-07-2019 01:48 PMRickyI still haven't seen Spectre. I need to rectify that soon! Maybe for a snowy day off in winter. 12-08-2019 07:50 AMDoctorZaiusI love Daniel Craig as Bond, especially his dark angst, and I can't wait for his fifth outing. He's easily my second favorite Bond - can't beat Connery. But with the Craig's final outing releasing in the spring, it's time to think about the next Bond. I have two thoughts, one traditional and one against type - just please, no Jane Bond!
Cillian Murphy (traditional) of Peaky Blinders fame - who knows, they might even be able to get Tom Hardy to be the villain. This guy just kills it on screen.
Henry Golding (against type) of Crazy Rich Asians and Last Christmas. There is something of the suave Connery throwback that I find appealing with this guy. Eventually they are going to go against type (remember all the Idris Elba talk), and they could do a lot worse than this guy.
Thoughts? 12-08-2019 10:17 AMMattrickOf course we're going to get Jane Bond. Nothing shows how much faith Hollywood has in the box office power of women quite like having women take over the 24 film franchise based on the ultimate male fantasy. 12-09-2019 10:24 AMfernanditoNo Jane Bond, please.
Also, what about Idris Elba as Bond? He's up there in age but shit man, that due oozes a calm menace just by his presence alone.
