While I was reading The Talisman this week, I started to hear Roland's call and it was strong. I guess it is time to head back to DT7 (series end spoilers)Spoiler:
but when you hear the call, you have to step up and answer it. 10-30-2008 02:03 PMBriceThat is about where I am now in DT VII. 10-30-2008 02:08 PMLettiI have just reread my favourite fight scene. Wow. Still way too good. 11-06-2008 08:00 AMsarahRoland (dt7 spoilers)Spoiler: 11-06-2008 12:25 PMLettiI am still rereading SoS. It's much better now. 11-11-2008 06:08 PMwanderwonderGunslinger on audioHi, just joined. listening to The Gunslinger on audio. (19th time reading it.) ;} According to the torrent site I found it on, there were some different versions of The Gunslinger- this is supposed to be the first (original) version. Read by Frank Muller. (Awesome!) Anyway, according to the torrent's author:
"This audiobook includes an interesting afterword written before The Drawing of the Three was completed.
For chapter and verse on the differences between the two versions of The Gunslinger, go to http://www.thedarktower.net/gunslinger."
Was wondering where to find the differences, if they exist?
Thanks! 11-19-2008 11:05 AMDiggity Of The EldMy fiance is reading the series for the first time, and she's on Book 3.
Spoiler:
This is silly of course, but it will make that scene with

... a little more suspenseful. Although that scene was already so suspenseful for me. I remember reading book 3 towards the end and being on such a roller coaster from that. 11-19-2008 11:18 AMLettiIt's interesting how people's fantasy can fly. 11-19-2008 01:19 PMDiggity Of The EldI think she's figuring it out a bit too early. She's a smart cookie...
Spoiler:
:rose: 11-20-2008 03:44 AMpickleI started reading the DT series on Friday and finished The Waste Lands lastnight, now i just got to get the rest. 12-07-2008 07:48 PMMianjoI'm not sure how many times I've read books I-VI. "Delah." I do know I've only read VII once...maybe twice, but I'm sure only once. I'm towards the middle of SoS right now. I had forgotten that sooooo much happens in this one.
I know that I am really, really looking forward to reading VII over winter break. 12-11-2008 09:16 AMFitzIve only read the series once. Going to leave it for a while however before reading it again. Going to read the other King books with relation to the DT first. Already read the Mist, and IT. Once ive got all the knowledge from the other books I think rereading TDT will be much more enjoyable (if thats possible). Finished the DT series about 5 days ago and already excited about rereading it haha 12-13-2008 09:25 AMLetti 01-07-2009 02:53 PMNightfallI finished the series for the first time in either late November or early December, and I'm now rereading The Gunslinger, I finished the part with the Oracle on the bus ride home 01-07-2009 03:49 PMMonteGssI am currently on DT3 and the three gunslingers are on their way to the Portal of the Bear.

Tomorrow is supposed to be like 7 degrees where I am and I don't have to work, which means I'll be reading under a blanket for hours on end. I am beyond excited.:excited: 01-31-2009 08:34 AMEdwardDean1999Fun thread. I'm at Tull right now. Almost ready to massacre the whole town. 02-05-2009 01:51 PMsarahoh I love the massacre scene. This is where we see who Roland truly is. 02-05-2009 07:10 PMMonteGssI just finished reading when Roland meets Susan. I kept thinking...."STOP, STAY AWAY FROM HER!" Man is she annoying. :)
I really am trying to enjoy it this time, I am. There is just such a big divide for me once the flashback starts and my friends disappear. :( 02-05-2009 09:31 PMJeanBears totally understand. 02-08-2009 10:35 PMThe_NamelessI feel I am playing the part of the slacker. I have not read more than the first half of the first book in more than four years.
I haven't even read King in quite some time, even though I bought the Bachman books fairly recently.
My girl recently completed -and enjoyed- The Stand, though. 02-09-2009 12:43 AMJeanDaniel is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
