Had to go with Elm Street. As silly as the sequels got, the original is iconic.
-
Nightmare. Of course.

I like the sequels a lot. Some great scenes in those.

The first 3 are good, then it really lost something for me.

This is the last bracket, so exciting :excited:
-
Pontypool should advance on the strength Grant Mazzy's insane facial expressions alone. Every time I think of that film, that's the thing that comes to mind first lol. A gem of a film.
Freddy Krueger is probably my favorite horror icon. It kills me to vote against NoES but it should be able to advance without my help.
Scream is a quintessential Craven film.
As a SK fan, I'm ashamed to admit I haven't seen The Mist.
-
The Mist is great. Love the Cthulhu. Love the ending.

I have seen it, but if I hadn't it wouldn't make any difference. I know everyone seems to love it, but I'll never be able to understand why.

Do not translate this message.

It's not the end of the world, it's just the end of the day.
-
A Nightmare on Elm Street. Iconic.
-
Watching that Pontypool trailer again makes me realise how long it's been since I've watched it. What a great film that was, especially for me since I've been to Pontypool before and there is like one road, Pontypool Road, that takes you into Pontypool and no where else, like an offshoot from the rest of the world so it's a fantastic setting. Also, since many Canadian made films don't try to exclaim 'we're in Canada' all the talk of the O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police), separtist movements in Quebec etc, merely makes the movie feel all the more authentic to me.

Think Scream has the worst cast of actors ever assembled.
-
I am afraid no more votes for Pontypool can be expected, not that Mattrick, feverish and bears have voted...

I disagree, I love the cast. I've also come to realize that I think we disagree a lot when it comes to horror films :couple:
Also I'm very excited to see that someone else has voted for it, and I'm dying to know who. I have a very soft spot in my heart for that film for some reason.
-
I almost voted for Scream. Might have, in another bracket.

I really want to watch this, but so far not available on Netflix DVD. Maybe I'll just buy it next time I place a DVD order. Lord knows my shelves are full of blind-buys. Mostly from Asia, as there is no other mechanism for viewing many Asian films (mostly Korean) other than to just import the DVD. Some blind-buys turned out great. Others...not so much.

I don't mean they are bad in scream, but no one in scream in a starring role in any movie is a good thing lol. When the best performer you got is Rose McGowan lol.

Oh man, I wish you had, then it might have a fighting chance.

Check youtube, I'm pretty sure that's where I watched it.

Well I'm in love with Skeet Ulrich, so that's a plus for me  And I really like David Arquette. Granted he's not the greatest actor, but he's really good in those quirky roles.

Pontypool is streaming on Netflix.

I agree, Heather. I think they all work really well together.
And I'm torn between Scream and The Mist. :(
I saw Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time this year and thought it was awful.

What?
Maybe you needed to have first seen it in the '80s.
-
Another bracket with some deserving films. I saw The Mist at the theater on what turned into one of the worst nights of my life and could easily have negative memories associated with the film, but I don't. I love the movie! So it gets my vote.

Do the right thing and vote for Scream :D
-
oh no!!! if Pontypool is out, what will bears do?
-
I might just stop voting if Pontypool is out. That will pretty much leave only 28 Days Later and The Shining remaining out of my top ten horrors
-
Voted for Scream, since it looks like The Mist will make it through. I really love both, though.

I don't think anyone else has seen it

"What's your favourite scary movie?"
"The ones not advanceing."
"Sorry."
"Fuck you ghost face."
