Ive got 8 dead pine trees in my backyard that need moving, Matt :) Its ok, theyre only covered in extremely irritating sap and bugs.
why the hell do you have eight dead pine trees in your yard?
Because of this shithouse canker virus that got into them just after we moved in. Those, in combination with the shitty grass that hasnt had enough water for 2 years because I refuse to water that much lawn in summer makes the back yard look like something near chernobyll, but we're slowly sorting it out and are planting things that could survive a volcanic winter. At the moment we just close the blinds and pretend there isnt all this work to do :)
And im chopping trees down with a pruning saw. Its just so much fun i think im going to explode.
I love that these posts won't go towards my count. Ha, now I won't be accused of postwhoring anymore. Just because I like to talk to people don't make me a postgilly, y'know.
Gotta say, I'm excited for the 19th...
i'm always excited about the 19th :) but this one will be much cooler than most.
zone, what sort of things are you guys planting? pretty colorful flowers?
ohhh long pork...
Ruki: nah, hardy trees and varieties probably. Something that wont die too easily :) Probably alot of natives, eucalyptus etc. Something to block out the derro neighbours at the back of us. I hate being in my yard and being able to see our neighbours.
For the time and effort involved in trying to move the trees, I would recommend going to your local United Rentals and renting a woodchipper. It's much easier to move bags of chips than it is to move trees. And--unless the virus would still be in the trees (dunno about that)--you could use the chips as mulch for your new trees. Just throwing out ideas... :cowboy:
Thats probably a good idea - we should probably get a big compost bin sorted out aswell. Ideally we're going to be doing alot of earth moving and planting saplings so will need heaps of mulch. This would all be great if we weren't a pair of retarded procrastinators, which we are :)
For every Ripley and Hicks, there are a million Hudsons.
This is like Palaver 2.0!
Well, it's Backup Fallout Shelter Palaver then.
Doesn't look that is going to happen Candice, so don't worry.
