Martin not only made a very generous bid for our first auction item but also gave even more than that when all was said and done.

Donation bar updated and we're off to a great start thanks in large part to Martin's generosity. Thanks man! :couple:

I think those that bid so high deserve to be recognized even though they may not have won.

I like that idea and I really hope they come back to bid on other stuff.

DTbay does not keep a list of who bid though, only how many. :arg:

It's the sentiment that counts. :couple:

Jon

Does sentiment start counting at zero?

Patrick

Greater than zero, Jon, or no "less than three."

Some thanks to hand out to a few folks.

To everyone who has asked how to get involved and what they can do. Thank you.

To Kim L from the SKMB. She is always a huge supporter of the fundraiser and is helping out again.

To Randall Flagg and Bob (carlosdet), thanks for thinking of us you guys it worked out great.

Auction bidders and winners and everyone else. You guys are showing me the true power of giving even during these hard times. :grouphug:

Donation bar just jumped and we are close to 1000 in the first month, not too bad.

I know this thread is designed for Haven donation appreciation, but I just benefitted from an act of generosity that floored me and I know that all the best folks read and post here, so please allow me to digress for a moment and interject a "public" off-topic appreciation.

My son has gotten me into collecting the Comic Arc's. I started with them and shifted over to just collecting the HC's. In any case he talked me into collecting the individual mags and as a result I was missing 6 or so titles to complete all the Arc's. I contacted Turtlex (Pam) to see if she could help out and offered to trade the 12 or so "extra's" of other titles I somehow ended up with left over. She said she would look into it and get back to me. Low and Behold, completely un-solicited the missing titles showed up at my door the other day!!! Her unfettered generosity floored me and I wanted to go on record acknowledging her act as well as my appreciation for it. She's a very special person and I will be making a Haven donation in her name by way of thanks.

So lets hear it for Pam!!!!

:clap::clap::clap:

Another example of the wonderful folks that make up the membership of this site!!

You may all now resume regularly scheduled programming!! LOL

I would also like to show my appreciation for the members who joined in with the three Haven contests. Many thanks :grouphug:

Excellent, Matt!

I'm sure it's posted around here somewhere, but what were the final totals for each of the past two years?

Matt
05-03-2010, 11:28 AM
The first year we did around 3300, the second year was a little over 6000 and this year is taking us well over 10,000.

Matt
05-04-2010, 11:34 AM
A beautiful friend of the fundraiser sent a large donation to us. :huglove:

Along with the others, we are still coming right alone.

I am going to be flat tickled pink if we get over 5000

Matt
05-14-2010, 09:39 PM
And I am now as pink as a new born baby.

We just went over 5000 and have a little more to collect. I think that is one hell of a showing for this recession. Thanks to everyone that has gotten involved this year.

We have collected many donations for entry into the Grand Prize drawing, great surge at the end.
