As promised, I am posting some pictures of some original art done for the S/L Eues of the Dragon by artist Kenny Ray Linkauser. There are 3 pieces in total. All are done on a cream-colored parchment paper and use pencil/pen/watercolor. The largest measures 23 1/2" wide by 17 3/4" tall. The second is 13 1/2" wide by 17 3/4" tall. The third is 10 1/4" wide and 17 3/4" tall. All are signed by the artist. The first two have titles, the last does not. It only has Sketch:

Here are the images:

The first one is Roland:

This is called "Mining Deep"

This one is not named, and I do not know who the character is:

Good stuff, David. I have not checked out all the artwork in my S/L. The second one says it was a study, but are the first and third actually the ones that appeared in the book?

I don't think so. These look nothing like the artwork in the Philtrum edition. Completely different style.

And the "92" that follows the artist's signature might mean they were done in 1992 which, of course, is much later than the Philtrum edition.

Yes, I didn't they think they look like anything I had seen and are not the same style. However David's statement about "some original art done for the S/L Eyes of the Dragon" made me think I had missed something. Perhaps I am misinterpreting his statement though.

I think that my girlfriend would agree if I hang the Tommyknockers print instead of "mining deep" :P

Yeah, if you buy that one she might break down and let you hang the other.

Stu just told me it was original art given to him years ago and that it was kinda gross. Now we know what he means. I have no doubts that it is legit artwork from the artist, but I would like to know his thoughts on how it came to be. If anyone can track Kenny Ray down, please let me know.

I'll ask Michael. Perhaps he has some contact with him.

These are for sale, but my hopes have dwindled now that I realize that the artwork is vastly different from the book.

Well...good luck with the contact info of Kenny L. I have one old address that it seems no longer works. There are no information about him on internet, and well...pretty hard to find. I can send you the address I have if you want to try :)

Anyone here able to help locating the artist?

Just to clarify, the name is "Kenneth R. Linkhauser" (with an h), right? According to "Stephen King from A to Z", that is a pen name for Kenny Ray Linkous.

The search is still futile?

Obtained this a while back. Original piece (Randall Flagg) from 1989:

I like it. Are you getting it framed?

Yes. It's a very odd size, and matting will be a challenge.
