It's your money and your collection and I'm not here to discourage your search, but the fact is 'Perfect' books will always incur a premium i'm afraid.

Well put... for some reason this one I can not justify spending 650-700 pounds and frankly will not. Again, I’m probably wrong and the hunt will go on but I feel this is a $450-500 US book. Time will tell if one comes my way for that.

From A Buick 8 was the last of the Stephen King Library issued & because of the low sales I am sure Buick 8 had a much lower print run & was never reprinted as most book club editions are.

I'm looking for a mint or near-mint copy of the Signet paperback of The Shining (the one recently released in poster form from Suntup Press).

This copy of the book was the first time I had ever heard of Stephen King (it was my brothers) and I'm trying to put together a book/poster gift for xmas.

I'm looking on eBay right now and not really seeing anything up to par. I also have no idea what is reasonable to pay for a fine copy of this book. I'm guessing it's one of those with a big jump between copies in very good condition and copies in fine condition...

Glen Orbik, who worked on the IT edition, has also passed away, in 2015. I was lucky enough to get a remarque from him in my S/L (not an easy task) but I don't think that he did many - you could get the other two pretty easily on your own. I would say that your best bet is to buy a FDNS and go about getting the remarques yourself. I have all but Tikulin, and he was willing, but I got scared at the last minute when I realized I had to send it to Yugoslavia. At that point I had all the other artists in my S/L, but I had visions of it getting lost in international mail. The other artists were very amenable to my requests.

Thanks for the info. I’m in the process of doing just that. So far have three of the 5 lined up for FDNS. Still working on the two available artists from IT (through a very helpful intermediary). I’ll hopefully have something to show in a few months if everything works out.
