Hello All!
So, I am new to this board but can be found on other boards like "The Collector" and "King.com", as well as "eBay" for feedback with the same ID.
I am looking to buy Salem's Lot S/L any number is okay as long as it at least f/f.
I am okay paying with PayPal with a regular invoice or gift.
Thanks,
Welcome to the board. Once you have 6 posts more sections will open up, and you can send and receive PM's.
"Playful tugging", but how does a book get better than F/F? That's the highest there is.:P
Thanks for the welcome!
As for the F/F...Well I'd take "As new and Flawless"....:lol1:

These are made by Jeff (jeffrey.whiley@ntlworld.com) in the UK for a very reasonable cost. He makes them all to order and can have a bespoke plate made for the lettering if you wish (at extra cost)
Jeff has made a number of these for me (and others here) I highly recommend him.

RF sold a similar case recently, I'm not sure if that was one of Jeff's or if that was made by someone in the US.

Looking for an Eyes of the Dragon Proof/ARC

There's also one on eBay (though not F/F), and two on Abe; the one from Stratford Canada is the one I returned a few weeks ago, it's in pretty nice shape except for a a small tear at the base of the spine, a nick just above that, and some curled corners. Wraps color is very nice, no fading at all. Some editorial marks in the upper right corner of the title page. It does not come with the art packet. David's are $150 and $175 for NF, the Abe's are $290 and $300. Don;t recall what the eBay one was, just that it looked raggedy. I think Michael (biomieg) had one for sale at one point to, you might want to ask him, it's been a few months since I looked at his list.

Yeah, I don't really expect to ever find one. I'm still a bit sad I missed out on the signed (!) copy that was listed at Betts some time ago for less than $500 (!!!) IIRC. I think David was still in the middle of posting a bunch of new items and I was checking in every now and then to see what he had added. But when I saw the listing it was already gone.

But at least some of the others should be possible to find I think...

I am now in a position to begin building my collection again, and will be approaching it a bit differently than before. Previously, I pinched and saved for months and painstakingly sought the best deals each May for my birthday. Now, I'm hoping to make a small purchase each month unless a 'big fish' happens to swim by.

I'd like to obtain first edition first printing hardcovers. Not interested in signed or limited copies, unless otherwise noted below.

Thank you very much for taking a look, I appreciate any purchasing suggestions!!

DECEMBER'S BOOKS:
The Bachman Books (NAL hardcover)
The Bachman Books (paperback)

DECEMBER'S BIG FISH:
'Salem's Lot (Doubleday 1975 - third cover state)

NO RUSH:
'Salem's Lot (Doubleday 1975 - first cover state)
The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger (Grant 1982)
The Plant (Philtrum Press)
Rage (Signet paperback, Bachman)
Roadwork (Signet paperback, Bachman)
Six Stories

Volume 5 of Castle Rock Newsletters

First Words
The Fugitive Recaptured
How to Write Tales of Horror, Fantasy, and Science Fiction

The spirit may be here... but the funds are not. :( I've already contacted everyone I was discussing purchases with, but figured I'd toss it in here just in case. My identity was stolen and I will not have access to my accounts for a bit. Someone in Florida is enjoying my credit card and bank account, plus my credit report indicates they may be adding some other extra fun at my expense. So, celebrating my new job (and the exciting extra King funds) will have to wait. At least the purchases I 100% committed to are already paid for, but I still apologize for the inconvenience to all other sellers.

It's a literary journal with essays about King and his work from April 1985.

This is the fifth issue of Bill Muster's small press magazine Footsteps (April 1985). Includes interviews with T.E. D. Klein, and Douglas E. Winter. Fiction by Elizabeth Massie, J.N. Williamson, Jessica Salmonson, etc. Critical articles on Stephen King. A fine copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Crap. Out of idle curiosity, what did you sell yours for? I turned down one copy for $65, and am now wondering if perhaps that wasn't the wisest thing to do. Maybe you can give me hope.

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out right now… though I'm still hopeful that a copy will show up someday soon for 60 or 65 bucks. My lack of success in the last few months, however, has me wondering…

If you're actively looking for something ... and you're hoping one shows up for $60 or $65 bucks ... why wouldn't you just buy the $75 copy that includes shipping?

Yes the set I missed out on was based in Auckland, about a 90 min flight away from where I live in Christchurch. The seller and I had basically negotiated a price, subject to him having one last go online. Then another purchaser from Auckland popped up and so he sold to him instead to avoid the hassle of packaging them up as safely as would have been required.

I'm not annoyed with the seller, more at myself for missing the opportunity.

And thanks guys, good to know re help for international shipping is available.

You are 100% correct. I have a remarqued one... McKean is quirky as far as I know….It took almost 20 years to “crack” him and then Steve Sargeant from Analecta Books in the UK FINALLY got him to sign some books and Remarque some copies. As far as I know, Steve is the only one to get him to do this. This is knowledge David @ Bett;s gave me. I really want one.... I just do not want to pay $400 + bucks. The remarqued one was $450. I will use it if I have to but I wanted a set not remarqued...

You probably wont get much cheaper than this... (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stephen-King-Wizard-and-Glass-First-Edition-MISBOUND-ERROR-COLLECTIBLE-/291286558797)

and if the misbound problem is an issue, keep the DJ and replace the actual book with this one.. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stephen-King-Wizard-and-Glass-Grant-/311188757971)

OR just by the $7 one and get a really nice jacket (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stephen-King-Wizard-Glass-LIMITED-UNFOLDED-DUST-JACKET-FINE-CONDITION-/291297521272):

Yes. Reputation comments (points) positive or negative can be given by anyone for a post that one appreciates, or hates.
Feedback is for a sales transaction. Only the buyer and seller are to provide feedback.

The Reputation button is the 6 point star underneath a member's avatar.
Feedback score is initiated by clicking on the member's Feedback Score number (in the row above where the rep star is).

The DJ's Grant sells are trimmed. The untrimmed copies I have (I believe) have extra blank (unprinted) white sections at each end of the dj. The height is trimmed, but not the width.
Probably worth a fortune.

Does anyone have a new DJ for the Trade Edition of Wastelands (Grant) ?
Grant books no longer sells them. I think I have 2, but they are not circumcised......oops, they are untrimmed.

Is that how Grant sold them? Would there be unfolded cut DJ's out there?
The DJ's Grant sells are trimmed. The untrimmed copies I have (I believe) have extra blank (unprinted) white sections at each end of the dj. The height is trimmed, but not the width.
Probably worth a fortune.

RF is correct on the appearance of The Waste Lands dust jacket. I have one for sale/trade, Stroppy, if you're still looking for one.

Does anyone have a duplicate first edition of The Shining they are willing to part with? I've been looking for a nice copy for far too long.

Looking for a Shining Dolso case, as I'm close to securing a first edition. Indifferent on whether the art is by Chadbourne or Wells.
