Steve Stone (http://www.nexus-dna.demon.co.uk/main_index.html) did the cover art for the Viking release of the first four Dark Tower books.
Stone is a Digital Cyber-Artist. Stone's art has been described as similar to H.R. Giger and presents similar technofetishism, including futuristic imagery of man-machine miscegenation.
Stone:
"The fetish textures I use have drawn me into something of a new world. I first came across them in sci-fi films that seem to see these fabrics used in the clothing of the future. Then I discovered that there was a real source for all these amazing ideas - the fetish scene."

He also did the cover of The Road to the Dark Tower. Note the similiarity in the representation of the tower.

I like his work.

Ari, do you still have that interview? Can you post a copy, or provide a link?

Thanks.

Have you guys ever seen the other DT covers that Steve did? They were only used for the Swedish hardcovers I think (photos courtesy of Siep):

Thanks for the link. If you look at his site he has another cover for DT VI that is pretty cool too.

Ha, that's weird, looks to me like the cover of DTV with the title of DTVI.

Maybe, but as a cover for V it is one honker of a spoiler. It still drives me nuts that they illustrated Granpere's tale of the wolves' attack when he was young because my first thought wasm "Hey, they look just like Doctor Doom." Bigger problem with the above is that it explicitly shows the horses as robots.

FYI (looked all the way through it yesterday for the first time, lol) those images are all in Knowing Darkness. :)

For some reason the Steve Stone link is a dead page. Anyone have up to date info?
I found this, but I'm not certain it's correct.
