I am starting a seperate Collection thread that features pictures of the various artist/author remarques/sketches/doodles/sketchy-doodles that I own. By my count, I have 39 in total, but I am waiting for 5 new ones (for 4 months now) to be completed by Michael Whelan. I think I have missed a couple of small Joe Hill ones in my count, but whatever. By artist/author, here is what I know I own:

14 Michael Whelan (11 in DT VII and 3 in The Art of MW)
5 Darrel Anderson (all in Song of Susannah)
2 Ned Dameron (both in The WasteLands)
2 Stephen King (1 in Cujo, 1 (debatable if it qualifies) in Wolves of the Calla)
1 Don Maitz (Desperation)
1 Rick Berry (Black House)
10 Miller/Chadbourne/Potter in Colorado Kid (5 Miller, 3 Chadbourne, 2 Potter)
1 Richard Isanove in Long Road Home Hardcover
2 Clive Barker (Coldheart Canyon and Weaveworld)
1 Joe Hill (I am Legend ARC)

I will post pictures of these remarques, I think by grouping them by person.

Michael Whelan is my favorite artist, and he was the one that initially got me interested and then finally obsessed with collecting remarques. So this is all his fault!

I will start with the three I have in his S/L edition of The Art of Michael Whelan and then post the 11 that I own from the DT VII collection:

Obviously a very different style, but I picked up 5 of these years ago for pretty decent prices.

Ok, these next two were done by THE MAN himself, Stephen King and really fall into the doodle category. Some might even cry foul and say they don't count at all, but they were additions he made to his signature in both cases: Cujo sign and Black 13

Two new additions in 2009, Oy and then Roland receiving the cross necklace from Aunt Talitha in River Crossing. The latter Ned did for me gratis before he organized his latest sketches to be sold through Tippy4.

This last one is the second favorite of all that I own...the first being the last Whelan image I posted above.

Folks, I have to stop here for now as duties at home call, and I don't know when I will get back to finish. I am going to the Green Day concert tonight in Hartford and then drive to Vermont at the crack o dawn to pick up my son from camp. So it may be a few days.....but hopefully what I have posted so far will keep anticipation high that you will return to check any further progress. Thanks.

Thanks for the kudos everyone! Glad you are liking this collection. Am back now. The Green Day concert was effing awesome (best concert I've ever seen) and our family is one again complete after a 7-hour round-trip drive to pick up one of our sons at camp in Vermont. Now, on to the show.

This is my latest remarque, courtesy of Juliana. Thanks loads!!

This remarque I won in an eBay auction by Rick himself, and he agreed to do a DT-related sketch for me.

As some of you know, I was involved in putting together the grand pize in this year's Big Give for the Haven Foundation. As I was obtaining signatures of the various people along the way, I got Jae Lee and Richard Isanove to do remarques in the Prize. In addition, I sent one of my own books on the journey to collect sigs, and Richard was kind enough to sketch in my own copy. I am waiting for Robin Furth to sign the book, and then it will return to me. Ari, who won the Grand Prize will get his signed by King. This is in The Long Road Home hard cover graphic novel.

In a special project organized by Steve Sargent in the UK, these 10 remarques are all in trade hardcovers of The Colorado Kid: 5 by Edward Miller, 3 by Glen Charbourne and 2 by J.K. Potter.

David, how wonderful that you created a single thread for these. It's great to see them all together in one place. Like everyone else around here seems to be, I'm in awe of your collection of signed books that all hold a little something extra.

p.s. Glad you enjoyed the Green Day concert!

Time to update my thread for the 5, yes 5, new remarques that Michael Whelan did for me. These are all done in the Granddaddy of all DT books, the S/L Gunslingers that I own (Lettered AY, #296, #310, #415, #PC).

Michael really outdid himself on these and they are my new Pride & Joys.

It was so cool of Michael Whelan to use David as the model for Father Callahan and the rest of us collectors for the Slow Mutants.
