View Full Version : Book Collection: frik/Siep
Well, I'll try to make a start with my collection. I'm not really sure how to go about it, but I'll give it a go.
Just a few photos - hope I'll manage to post them.
Once I'm back from my trip to the US, I'll continue this thread.

Haha, trust me on this guys, there's a LOT more where this came from :D By the way, Siep, I'm glad you're doing this because until now I've only seen the pics of your bookshelves and not of the separate volumes. It's great that you're really putting them in the spotlight now :)
Thanks, guys. More will be coming soon.
I do have a technical question, though: I'm uploading my pictures through Imageshack. Is this a good program to use? I mean, how long will the photos in this thread last? If they're gone in a couple of months, I better find another way to post these.
Any suggstions??

Siep, here is the thread in the Tutorials subforum of the Corner:
How To: Use Gallery or a hosting service for pictures (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=447)
Hope that helps.
Ok - here's part 2 of my collection.

Reading The Stand has turned me into a constant reader for life: 34 years and counting...(in 1975 I read Carrie, which was my first King experience, but didn't do the trick for me...).
These are the US (cut), UK (uncut) and the US (uncut) editions. Unfortunately, the US uncut is not a first edition.

UK - US - French (softcover..one of the few I own).

Our Dutch hardcover edition, recently released.
De Donkere Toren is Dutch for The Dark Tower. I guess our publisher is trying to make some extra money by really pushing de DT link. However - this is not allowed any longer so any other DT related books will have to use smaller print.

My first King limited, if I remember correctly.
I participated in the lottery, didn't win, bought a copy from a dealer, was later contacted by Philtrum some lucky winners no longer wanted their copy and if I still wanted one....Of course I did, so I ended up with two copies. One of these I sold through eBay, the other one I kept.
It's a gorgeous book!

The UK Everything's Eventual and From a Buick 8 have the worst covers ever done for a King book, in my opinion. They are simply hideous! The cover of the UK proof of From a Buick 8 is so much better, I wonder why they didn't use it.

In my living room! Three bookcases and I have to start looking for a fourth one pretty soon.
When I'm done posting the individual books, I'll finish with an overview of the cases.

Not really Kingbooks, I love reading them and they do belong in my King collection. And no, I have no intention of buying the separate comics. These hardcover editions will do nicely.

The Stand has always been my favorite Kingbook. From what I've seen so far, this Marvel/comic adaptation is a great addition to any King-collection. Also mine...
