View Full Version : International Feel Sorry for Yourself Day

Woofer

It's also Fibromyalgia Awareness Day and Eat What You Want Day.

When you think about it, it's fitting that those two fall on International Feel Sorry for Yourself Day (IFSFYD) this year. IFSFYD, however, is on the second Monday of May, so they won't be on the same day next year.

ETA: Cute with Chris

Let's embrace this day - then let the mods merge it with D&B thread later (if that's cool with the mods).

For me: The curse finally came today. IFSFYD indeed.

This seemed like an appropriate song for "Feel Sorry For Yourself Day"...

I feel sorry for me that I can't see this until I am at home.

Bless you, Jayson, for not choosing, well, you know the version. *shudders*

I typically pick the original over a more well known cover anyway, but when the original is the great Warren Zevon and the cover is Ms. Rondstadt, it's a no-brainer. :)

I'll feel even more sorry for myself if someone I know finds it... :scared:

no one ever felt sorrier for himself than marvin, the paranoid android:

life. don't talk to me about life.

Whenever I've caught myself feeling sorry for myself I give myself a mental kick in the ass. I hate that kind of thinking from anyone, especially myself.

We will totally celebrate, but Mr. Woofer will refrain for he is one glove-loving man.

Y'know it wouldn't be such a big deal if I hadn't have superimposed my wife's head on women having sex with midgets.

Probably something involving midgets, farm animals and defecation.

can we have a feel sorry for yourself day today?

Well sod it i am going to do, normally i can book my self up and mentally kick myself up the arse, but i am tired today

had to go to hospital this morning, 4th appt and i am fed up of being prodded and poked, feel like just saying i'm fine forget it
which isn;t too bad i know, but i cant talk to my family about it as they always manage to change the subject to themselves and they arent really all that arse.
then my friend has just called and i was going to tell her - but she is not well so couldn't load her up with my problems.

so i am sat here now feeling really sorry for myself:(

Also, today my glasses jumped off of my face and into the nearby gutter. My friend Jeffrey was with me, thank god, and we pulled off the manhole cover. He jumped in and got them. Epicness personified. He's my hero.

Kind of both, and I had nightmares last night (rescuing our cats, nearly getting hit by a car, the army coming through because some deep shit was going down (pre-post-apocalyptic), children tearing up the yard of the house we're trying to sell, etc.), AND the cheese sticks that we got from the store made Mr. Woofer and I both violently ill in the middle of the night. So, on top of weirdness, I am tired and still kind of queasy.

its the cheese, you know what they say about cheese giving you nightmares.
early night for you i think - everything always looks 10 times worse when your tired

good thoughts and cuddles to you:grouphug:

Good idea. Now if I can just force myself to do it. Maybe I will put on Bubba Ho-Tep and fall asleep to that. Of course, I also have Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness to read.

I often see dreams about rescuing my cats, too! What the heck is it supposed to mean? :scared:

Much Oy-ish goodmind for you, my lupine friend! :huglove:

Woofer

thanks, lily-sai. i've wondered about those dreams, too. i am very much as you describe yourself with regards to protecting our loved ones, so i think that the dreams are reflections of that. who are more helpless than those who cannot truly express their ills or needs? our pets can't tell us where it hurts or what's bothering them, so we feel even more protective.

Well put, Woofer! Never thought of it in that way, but I think you're right, indeed.
My kitties say hello to you - Cesi is laying on my arm (which makes it kinda hard to type, but I don't mind :) ) and Sirius is beside me, laying all spreadeagled. What a weirdo.

Woofer

Woof! which is hello back to the sweeties. I was just lamenting that all of ours are outside - porch or in the tiny copse of trees in the back yard. I can't begrudge them, though. In Florida, there aren't too many really great nights to 'camp out' for kitties. Mostly it's too hot, but the tourists also freak them out when the tourists get loud - and some of them invariably do. As a matter of fact, the Christian retreat down the street (ah, for the good old days when it was but a cluster of cottages owned and run by a family) frequently gets very loud indeed.
