:rose:

Ever have I been sought out,
By one stone searching round about, ("one stone" = EINSTEIN) (Guessed by Gaberax)
And yet elusive I remain
To one stone and to every brain.

When kin do come to visit you (general) RELATIVITY (Guessed by Jon)
They have a spat, they truly do
With those you've paid to fix your car, (quantum) MECHANICS (Guessed by SigTauGimp)
Thus we've arrived at where we are.

The cat's toy sought to make amends STRING (theories) (Guessed by Gaberax)
But could not make the two be friends
as it was five--oh tragic day
When fivefold did it split away.

But now have I come into view
The thirteenth and to those of you
Who seek me out, the final piece
In this great puzzle--gain release.

M-THEORY (Guessed by Gaberax)

Wowzers....tough riddle. I like the prose of it, though.

With those you've paid to fix your car, Mechanic?

Otherwise, I got nothin'. :P

Mechanics (plural) is correct for that clue. :)

Now, what KIND of mechanics am I talking about?

Ever have I been sought out,
By one stone searching round about,

This makes me think of a magnet...

Not a magnet--but your thinking is sort of on the right track....

"One stone"....

Jon

One stone...Hydrogen??

John_and_Yoko

One stone...Hydrogen??

No, nothing to do with the Periodic table.

Think "one stone" over and over again....

Jon

One stone = 6.350 Kg.

One stone...two birds

Okay, maybe this'll help--think another language.

You got it. :D

Now mayhap that will aid in deciphering the other clues....

Cool! Off the top of my head I was thinking Quantum Mechanics...Shroedinger's Cat...but that's without working the other clues... ;)

Quantum mechanics is also correct, but Schroedinger's Cat is not.

Well, I kinda got sidetracked. Found a very interesting riddle from Einstein himself in my travels. I will be posting in a day or so.

At any rate, would the answer to this section:

The cat's toy sought to make amends
But could not make the two be friends
as it was five--oh tragic day
When fivefold did it split away.

be string?

***Sorry for the delay, I was filling out some FAFSA forms...ugh!***

But now have I come into view
The thirteenth and to those of you
Who seek me out, the final piece
In this great puzzle--gain release.

13th letter of the alphabet is M. M = Mass E=MC2?

P.S. SigTauGimp got the Mechanics clue. ;)

D'oh! So close....

"M" is correct, but it's not mass....

EDIT: And how could I have missed that? Sorry about that.... Fixed now.

M-Theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-theory)? Damn. I was thinking about that youtube video detailing 11 dimensional space...but the 13 was throwing me. I didn't know it was called M-Theory. Is this correct?
