Here are two - nothing special I know just some fun with GIMP because I got bored with my old desktop. I will send more later.
Feel free to use any of them. (I do the same.) ;) - Let me know what size you need and I will send it to you.

Cool. I've been wanting to change my Dave McKean background for a couple of weeks now. I used the first one. :)

Thanks, Letti.

Letti, these are great. I have the gimp program but have no clue how to use it. I actually saved all three. I am using the third one for my desk top right now. Thanks for sharing these. Look forward to seeing more

Thank you. If you need any help with Gimp let me know. If you feel you are ready to learn and meet some great stuff here I am. I am not so good at it either but I know some nice tricks. :)

Like this new version - I've replaced the one I used yesterday with this one!

Letti

There is one more under it. ;)
For my part I can't choose. *smiles*

ManOfWesternesse

Damn, I have to change again - definitely like the last one (labelled '6') best!
Nice work Letti.

Letti
07-03-2008, 04:03 AM
Thank you for the kind words, sai. :D Is the size good for you? Don't you need a bigger one?

ManOfWesternesse
07-03-2008, 04:14 AM
No, the proportion (length Vs Width) is OK Letti, so when I apply it to the Desktop I can apply it 'Centred' (ie it's smaller than the screen & is centred) or else 'Stretched' (it stretches it out to the screen size).
I like it Centred.

Letti
07-03-2008, 04:16 AM
Okay, if you wouldn't like to make it centered and you would like it to cover the whole surface of your desktop I can send you a 1024x768 version.

ManOfWesternesse
07-03-2008, 04:25 AM
Well, I have that one on my work Desktop PC (17" screen), here it is...

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z47/ManOfWesternesse/Various_pics/BC_DESKTOP01.jpg

I think it looks good centred like that!

and my other work machine (Laptop with a desktop 19" screen), I use this one (stretched) on. I love it as it is stretched out of it's original proportions...

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z47/ManOfWesternesse/Various_pics/bc_desktop02.jpg

Letti
07-03-2008, 04:30 AM
Mine looks this way (I prefer it this way):

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/Lettike/banner-av/mine.jpg

So if you think so (no force) I can send you it in a bigger size so it will fit your desktop perfectly and you needn't get it centered.

ManOfWesternesse
07-03-2008, 04:33 AM
Letti, by all means send it.
You want to load it here - or e-mail it if you want (brianjchambers-AT-gmail-DOT-com)

If I don't use it here I might use it on home PC.

Letti
07-03-2008, 04:34 AM
Okay, wait I can solve it here as well but I mustn't use Photobucket
because Photobucket resizes everything that's too big for it.

*edit*
Now all the desktops can be found in bigger size /1024x768/ as well. The links are under the pictures.

I've been working for a while in a set of wallpapers of The Dark Tower.
Each wallpaper represents one book.

I finished the set today, and i wanted to share it with you.

The wallpapers come in two sizes, 1680x1050 (widescreen) and 1152x768 (4:3).

These are the preview images:

http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/ss256/dotKay/preview-1.png

http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/ss256/dotKay/preview.png

And here are the download links: (Each .rar includes all the wallpapers)

1680x1050 (http://rapidshare.com/files/229551640/1680x1050.rar)

1152x768 (http://rapidshare.com/files/229550562/1152x864.rar)

I don't mind if you want to post them somewhere else, i just want you credit the forum ^^

I hope you like them :)

EDIT: I uploaded the images to my Gallery, in case the links are not good :)

Fabulous work!

Question though...I downloaded one of the files but it won't open. I'm computer retarded...any suggestions on what to do next?

dotKay
05-05-2009, 05:57 PM
Mmmhhh the files are .rar, you need Winrar to decompress them.
Maybe thats the reason.

I'm uploading the wallpapers to my gallery, so if you still can't open the files, you can download them from there :)

Um, Erin was having an issue uncompressing the .rar files - and at download.com there's a bunch of free unzip programs which will uncompress .rar files like these.

Was I not clear?

( gosh, I feel like I just let down my favorite teacher or something :( )

Hey guys, new to the site and was just poking around the forums. I actually read the gunslinger about 4 years ago as a sophomore and always wanted to read the sequels so about 3 months ago I reread the first and bought the drawing of the three. That's when I became obsessed, lol. Im currently in the thick of The Wolves of the Calla and loving it. I just got a new laptop the other day and felt as if it needed a "tower" feel, so i whipped up a quick wallpaper i thought was pretty decent (for my standards anyway) lol. Let me know what ya think! :)

Sorry, forgot the link haha. here it is.

I made these that you could perhaps resize. I might have the originals in a larger size somewhere if someone would like them as well. They were originally designed as book covers. Not sure how the best way to insert an image into the message board is anymore, let me know if there's a better way. If you right click you can save.
