Okay - if this is somewhere else, please merge...

So today I got a letter in the mail from the US Department of Justice saying that I may be a victim of "Consumer Fraud" on eBay from seller "Bev102162smith" !!!

Has anyone else got this!??!?! I dont remember if I ever bought anything from him - but i must have if they have my address!

I am going to scan this letter tomorrow so you all can see it...

This is CRAZY!

If I'm not mistaken, that guy is currently on trial for just that!

Really? Thats strange. Are you sure it wasnt a late April fools day prank, I fell for one myself today.:wtf:Sorry I dont mean to say this is not true, in fact its terrible if it is.

But yes, they are asking me to be a wittness! But I dont remember if/when/what i bought from him!

they said he bought books as "bigdaddy_books" faked the signature and then re-sold them as "bev103162smith"

One would presume so, otherwise the USJD would have no way of knowing or contacting you.

Don't lost sleep over it. Your information, etc. is just ammunition for them.

Maybe he purchased a book from you, faked the signature, turned around and sold it.

Or, he purchased a legit signed book from you and used the signature to fake others.

Many scenarios can be made up but the one that remains true; You can help them bring this guy down :rock:
