Now, attention please: below you can see the nominations we've already had. They always move on to the next season. If someone wants to nominate another book but has already done it previously, s/he will have to withdraw their previous nomination (please declare it explicitly).

That might actually provide good discussion points...
What do you think the cat is trying to compensate for with his large hat?????
Alright, so nobody has put anything forth, so perhaps we should just go forth with voting with the old nomination?

candy - just by asking, you've already joined!!
Actually, we're pretty informal. We pick a book, post some questions and then talk about it.
I had to vote for my nomination - Catcher In The Rye. It's an American classic.
I'm sucked into a million other things right now, but I will try to participate!
candy - just by asking, you've already joined!!
right... and, candy, there's nothing you can do to change it now! Once posted - no way back.......

I will go with whatever is chosen. I have been busy with my guest - MISHA.
I had a strong urge to choose JP again, but I haven't read Catcher yet, so I went with that.

I think Catcher in the Rye is very overrated. I read it and didn't see what the fuss was about. Actually, I kind of wanted to punch the guy. :ninja:
I voted for 1984 but I also wanted to vote for Sirens of Titan.

That is why I voted for it. I want to discuss that. It is definitely not among the books I love, and I was going to see what and why people feel.

Oh. Well then. :P I could probably get behind that... actually, I'd probably end up typing a page-long rant. I get wound up about things I don't like.

So, ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to announce our next book -
The Catcher in the Rye
The discussion starts on June 1st; till then, everybody has the time to read or reread it.
If you can think of good questions, PM them to razz or to me (Ves, our former President, is understandably busy now... so I arbitrarily appointed razz, who hasn't confirmed it yet; since I haven't heard from him to the contrary, though, I hope he accepted). Till June 1st, the previous book (Bradbury) is still on... maybe we'll still be able to do it justice.
