I'm a huge fan of Samurai movies and was wondering if there are any good books. I've read some of the graphic novels of Lone Wolf and Cub - I plan on getting more of them eventually. Is there anything else I need to read?

Even though it's only one Vol. long (thus far), Sam Noir is a really good read -

Amazon.com: Sam Noir Samurai Detective (vol. 1): Eric A. Anderson, Manny Trembley: Books

I'd forgotten about Shogun - I'll definitely add that to the list of stuff to read.

I'll probably check out Sam Noir as well. It looks interesting.

Yes, Shogun is a definite.

Also you should have a look at a series of 3 books by Raymond E. feist & Janny Wurts.
- Daughter of the Empire.
- Mistress of the Empire.
- Servant of the Empire.

.. these are not strictly 'Samurai', being fantasy set on another world - but they have a lot in common with the concept.

I came in to recommend Shogun after seeing the title, but I see I've been beaten to it
Gai-Jin and Tai-Pan, which follow on from Shogun are also good!
