Last week I began talking with one of our members about some donations they would like to make to our Haven Fund Raiser.

During the course of our discussion, he mentioned to me that his nephew Michael had died recently and was a Dark Tower fan. Once I heard the story I knew a way to memorialize this young man would be to not only add him to our donation wall but to also create this thread as the substantial donation is being made to our site in his name.

I just wanted to draw attention to how something like this can touch people and to have a moment where we can celebrate the life of a young man we did not know who now stands in the clearing.

Rest in Peace Michael :rose:

I will leave it up to the member if they would like to disclose themselves in here but I hope everyone will leave a bit of thanks for the amazing generosity extended to our fund raiser and freelance artists by proxy.

Very sad indeed. :(

Donating to the fundraiser in his name is an awesome idea, though. Maybe some good can come out of this tragedy.

I'd just like to extend my heart-felt thanks and sincere best wishes to all you folks for helping to keep Mikey's memory alive.

Your willingness to jump in, feet first, with thoughts and prayers for someone you do not know is very rare. You are all very special folks. Thank you all!!!

And place some auction bids!!! I would love to see us exceed Matt's expectations and I plan to do all I can to achieve that goal!!! As someone mentioned earlier Perhaps we can find a silver lining to this tradgedy.

It is a wonderful thing you are doing sir, using charity as a way to deal with grief is always a great way to go.

This site and all of our members really appreciate the effort you are making on behalf of the fundraiser and we're honored to celebrate the life of your nephew in the process.

I am going to merge this thread with the existing memorial thread so people can find information all in one place.

I just got another stunning donation box in memory of Michael.

I am routinely staggered by the depth of generosity I have seen this year from all quarters. :grouphug:

Mind me asking who it was from, Matt? I'd like to personally thank them on behalf of the family. Was it "Rusher" (Shannon)?
