Straight A's. All great stories. It's one I never have to think about which stories are in it. I just remember.

All b's only cause I admit with out getting up
and looking, I don't recall which stories are in it.

This one gets As for Memorability and Quality, but a B for Plot Delivery. One of the stories lacked a little for me.

Straight As here. One of King's best ever.

I know collections are different but isn't going to effect the results to judge the collections differently from the novels?

That being said this one would still get A's from me. What other collection can claim to have two great movies and one decent one made out of three of its just four stories?

A, B, B. - Good collection overall. Shawshank on it's own would be straight A's.

Straight A's for the reasons stated in the posts above. This is one of the very first King books that I read, it's one of the primary reasons I stuck around to check out his other works.

straight a's

I love all of the stories..my only flaw would be the mini stories inside of The Body..I thought they sucked but then that in and of itself amused me so..it still gets all a's :)

My favorite is actually the last story..The Breathing Method. I think I like this one most because it's lesser known having not been made into movies and such.

Seriously for those of you who haven't read this collection yet...go get it NOW :)

I didn't think Gordie was much of a writer either, but I think that makes it all the more endearing.

All A's from me. One of my favorite collections. This is actually the book that I pass onto my friends, when I'm trying to turn them onto reading some King.

I have used this book as "Intro to King" as well. I've hooked several people with it.

I don't know if you guys know this, but those were early King stories. They're still uncollected, so very rare.

I did know that Pablo :)
I liked that aspect of it as well.
I still think they are pretty shoddy stories, but I like that he used them in this way to represent Gordie's work. They read like a 12 year old wrote them.

All A's for me. I think the novella is where King's writing prowess shines best. He's a little reigned in because of the space he has to work with, yet remains classical King with his character development.
