i hadn't read much King, even though i've always been an avid fantasy reader, until my bro gave me dreamcatcher in jan(07). since then i've read thru TDT 1-6(i'm on seven, right after suz leaves). the stand, desperation, four min to midnight, & many segments of others in a short time.
i don't know exactly why i never had read him much, maybe i figured he was normal just cause he was mainstream... but now his warm familiar-feeling narration has become a new set of glasses i simply feel blind without.

How did you discover the Dark Tower?
Needed something to do on my downtime for an upcoming field problem. Had read almost all of King's books till then, and kept putting off The Dark Tower cause I figured I wouldn't like it. Some references in other books got me a little interested, so I picked it up.

All the main characters bring some good and annoying habits to the group...but Roland is The Man. As for the secondary characters, I like the old guy who helps em in the ambush in the general store...can't remember his name.

Don't know...maybe either the gunslinger entire series as one book, or The Stand.

I don't seem to know anyone that has read all 7 books. Most of the folks I've spoken to read (or started to read) the first book and gave up.

How did you discover The Dark Tower? I've been addicted to Stephen King's books for a long time, so I knew about The Dark Tower for a while. I put off reading it up until last year. It's been so hyped up for so long, I was almost scared to read it, afraid I'd be let down. Boy was I wrong. I don't even know how many times I've read it since.

Who is your favorite charcter? Roland...I have no choice really. I've never felt so much sympathy and love for a character. I think he may have ruined all other characters for me.

What is your favorite book? That's hard. I love all the DT books for different reasons. If I have to pick, I'll say DT7, just because it made me feel soooo much.

For me, there is just so long that I can tolerate something like that but I am harsh on the customer service side.

It should be the top priority for the site even though its free, the members matter.

But in the end, each will choose and that is why its this sites responsibility to make it the clear choice for SK fans regardless of what happens to the dt.net

I have just joined today. I have been reading and collecting King since I bought a paperback version of Carrie in 1975 which shows my age. I live just outside Liverpool in England. I mainly have UK 1st edtions but over the last few years have got a few signed limiteds. I reckon I have about 20 books signed by King. Pride of place goes to my signed limited copy of 999 which I got King to sign in London during the Lisey's Story tour. He told me that he had only signed a couple of them ever.
I think that this is a great site. It is the only one that I have ever been tempted to join and post on.
