Hey all! Would say y'all, but I'm sure it may get on some peoples' nerves that aren't from the south...anyway, I just joined and have a lot of extra King books on hand that I unfortunately need to let go. I'm graduating this semester from USC (south carolina, not southern cal) w/ an accounting degree, and so I'm gonna have quite a few expenses coming up soon. Anyway, my collection isn't grand by any means, I'm only 22 and have only been collecting for 2 years, but I pretty much have every first trade edition (except the rarer ones like Carrie, 'Salem's Lot, Night Shift).

The average condition of them is probably NF+ . Conditions range from Very Good Minus to Brand New, and if you all think it'd be a good idea for me to list all of the books out I can do that too. Right now I've just got pictures of the books, so hopefully it's easy to read which titles are which, etc.

There are a few book clubs in there, but not many at all. If you're interested in anything, try to PM me (I made 5 posts so hopefully it'll work... but we'll see). And I know that since I'm a newcomer one of the site administrators has to flag me as currently being a nontrusted member for dealing, and I fully respect that. So I'm open to any ideas you guys may have to make sure everyone is happy and feels comfortable making deals. I feel like I could trust you all (just from reading and visiting the site for almost 2 years), so if it came down to it, I guess I could mail the books to you guys first and then get paid later if that would be a viable option.

Regardless, just let me know if you're interested in anything I have (nothing great I know but if there's a book or two missing in your collection I could maybe help you out!), and I look forward to getting to know you all!

-Will

That's a great collection you have. It think it will be also very useful if you can make a list of the books (including condition, asking price, 1st edition) for us to take a look at. Just a suggestion.

The funny thing is that I see all those books and I am immediately drawn to the two copies of "The Waste Lands". There's just something about that book that makes me want to own it, even though I already have three copies on my shelf at home. Drawing of the Three is also growing on me. I love the paper they used for that one. I just bought a second edition, and I was surprised they used the same paper; between that and the new artwork I'm very happy with my purchase.

First off, I would like to acknowledge how patently ridiculous this post is, because I think I might be stretching the meaning of the word "collectible" a bit. Anyway, I have written (and self-published) a kids sci-fi/time travel book (see signature), and I have commissioned a limited edition of ten hardcover copies of which I am offering five (the even numbers) for sale at $30. Much to my surprise, I have sold two copies already, so if three others want in, just let me know.

Here is a picture of the front of the dust jacket:
http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/8860/029gr.jpg
I know what you are saying: why would you publish a kids book and then make the cover all dark and dreary and also not put the title on it? And as soon as I have a good explanation for you, I'll post it.

I was told I could bind the book in any color, as long as the color was blue:
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/9038/027hh.jpg

The limitation page:

Niall, Your starting bid is right around the going price (someone just sold DT V - VII S/Ls a few weeks ago for $1178 incl. shipping). I wouldn't be surprised if you got one or two last second bids, but I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't, either. I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this, but I have a Horror-Mall $35 gift certificate I just don't have a need for, and would be willing to let it go for $30 if anyone is interested...

Anyone interested in this? I'd go as low as $25...

Horror-mall is shutting down, has a very small inventory now, and won't be honoring old gift certificates at darkfuse.com (http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=d372741da51dba29450a1cac0&id=81cae68003). So...

It read fine to me. Circuit City went out of business, and we were left holding $100 in gift certificates from them. Had I known, I would have redeemed them.

Ah, I thought I read that they were excepting it until Horror Mall was completely gone. Below is what I had in my email from them. So if someone had still had something they wanted, it is a pretty good deal...

Will I lose my current Horror Mall points or gift certificates if I don't cash them in?

Yes, but you will have plenty of time to use them as the Horror Mall site will remain live till preorders have been filled and existing stock depleted. We estimated the shopfronts to be accessible for no less than a year through a sub-directory at horror-mall.com

I don't want to, but I am selling my Signed/Limited edition of Christine for $750 which will including shipping.

It's #222. The book is basically in new condition. Honestly the book is in perfect shape. I posted some pictures a few years back on this site (before or after Jereome took over? I can't remember), but I don't have them anymore. sorry.

EDIT: I'll take offers. I don't want to because the book is in such good condition but I need the cash for this months bills.

I'm going to be selling the S/L of Christine for $450 and a S/L of Desperation for $250 at lunch today to a local book store. I have to because I can't pay for all my bills this month.

If anyone wants to come up with a better price before that happens let me know and I'll sell it to you. The books are pretty damn cheap, imo. SOLD

Not criticizing anyone in any way, but have any of you folks with multiple copies considered "hooking a brother/sister up" at cost plus S/H? Even if it's just a single copy. Lotta folks got burned and it would be the "cool" thing to do. Not that you're not entitled to a profit, this is Capitalist America, just saying is all. Read nothing into it at all and I am definitely not criticizing anyone in anyway. Just sort of "throwing an idea out there" is all.

Hey Bill. I've got a chance to buy one, and have put it out there for members here to PM me with an offer purely to see what people are prepared to pay. I'm not asking for a set price. If that results in a mark up, I'm going to buy some other King piece for that amount, thus hoping two people here that get a book for what they think is a fair price, is a good result for all parties.

I know some will just think I'm just out for a quick buck, but if that was the case I think I'd do better getting the book delivered and trying my luck on fee bay.

And who knows, maybe no one will take me up on my offer due to the chance the sale won't go through if the delivery address can't be different to the made up one I used to enter the draw anyway...

jimimck and anybody else, I was in no way trying to pass judgement on any one. We all do what we can, for who we can amd when we can. I bought a S/L for a fellow member and the idea was on my mind. I am not, in any way trying to pass "judgement". Who the hell am I to do so?

It's a tricky discussion to have, because it involves money. On the one hand I understand what you're saying, but on the other hand the argument seems to apply only to this specific book. I would love to own a S/L from the DT series, but I doubt anyone here would sell me their books at cover price. The book has sold for between $319 and $375 on ebay, so I think an offer of $299 shipped is reasonable and does have a home-town discount built-in. Who knows, maybe no one will take me up on it and it'll have to come down.

Mr. Fulman, I didn't say or mean to imply that you're price wasn't fair. It is. I guess I was trying to imply a more open approach that I personally subscribe to. I'm not trying to say you are wrong in any way shape or form. Just suggesting a more, Altruistic? approach that is your's and others to make. I guess in retrospect I don't really know what I was saying. I had no intention of getting a S/L of 11/22/63, but got involved for the benefit of another member here. See where I'm coming from? I certainly am not passing any form of judgement!!!

We are in a capitalist market and should conduct ourselves accordingly.

My opinion is that if you can sell something for a higher than market-value price, go for it. If it doesn't sell, then try for a lower price. Even here, it's nice to sell/trade things because you were fortunate to have won a lottery or if you were lucky enough to have found an item or items at a great price ... but not necessary.

When I find a single item at better than market-value price, I tend to keep the item. If I am able to find multiples of the same item at better than market-value prices, or if I already have one, then I will buy them with the intention and expectation of selling them at market value price, either here or somewhere else. :)

I'll sweeten my deal: 11/22/63 S/L plus a shrinkwrapped Collector's Edition of Under the Dome, $299 shipped in the US. Cover price is $150 for 11/22/63, plus $75 for UtD, plus I paid $30 for tax and shipping on 11/22/63, plus it'll probably cost me $20 to ship it back out, so the profit margin will end up at $25. If that's aceptable to anyone, just send me a PM.

Congratulations.

I have won opportunity to purchase 11/22/63 S/L.
Looking for offers to "transfer" this to new collector so book can be sent to you directly.

PM me with offers and check out my post under 11/22/63 thread for full details.

I expect to get the email with purchasing instructions in the next couple of days.

**EDIT** Email received which contains unique order code, and phone number to ring and purchase book. The order process is to confirm the email address and US address that was used to enter the draw.

It seems that the actual mailing address can be changed from the address used to enter the draw, so I expect this code can be transferred to new purchaser to have the book sent direct to them. Let me know if you keen to purchase, and I can send all required information...

Anyone out there interested in an Desperation* S/L with no traycase? The book itself is in good shape (I can post pictures if desired). Ironically, I'm going to blow the proceeds on a traycase for 11/22/63 (plus some other book-related debts I am about to incur). $150 Shipped in the US.

* Originally, my post said Insomnia. Sorry about that.

While that may be a very good price for the book (it really is a great looking book), my favorite part about that S/L is the traycase. So pretty! :) No worries Author-Man, someone will scoop it up. :)

Just wanted to clarify that it's Desperation, not Insomnia. I don't know what I was thinking. Here is a scan of the actual book:

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2606/desperation.jpg

There is a dent on the spine through the letter "S" and a slight scuff (seen as a white spot under the letter "E" in the detail on the right). I think the book must have been dropped at some point.

Like I said earlier, if I were to buy one, I would have to buy them all, and if I make a commitment to myself to buy them all, then I would hope that 1) they would continue to be awesome, 2) a different artist would be attached to each project, and 3) I get first dibs on the artwork because I'm special. :)

OFFER CLOSED, FOR NOW

Hello, all, I am a proud member of the Science Fiction Book Club, and I find myself with a fairly large quantity of Stephen King 2012 Desk Calendars on hand. These are a lot nicer than I expected them to be, but I can't believe that people are paying $50+ for them. You could probably join SFBC and fulfill your commitment for less than that. I'm attemtpting sell them on ebay for a tidy little profit (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130610746677), but I'm willing to sell four of them at $15 each, shipped in the US, to fellow TDTers. As noted in the ebay listing, the lenticular covers are easily scratchable, so I can't guarantee that you'll get one in perfect condition, but I'll do my best to hook you up with a good one. First come, first served; one per member please.

Another thing I noticed on Grants website is that if you register LSOS it asks for your DT Volume 7 deluxe number. I'm a bit confused. Do you need to own both editions?

Simon, you have so much great stuff! I envy and love your collection. I want to marry it and have little baby Shannon/Simon's SK Collection spawn. :) And the prices seem great. But ... it's Christmas time ... you know? Not a lot of people have the money to spend on things like this (exception: gifts to SK collectors! :)), and if they do, then it won't be as high as what the items are worth. I wish you the best, and I wish I had more money ... :( lol

I emailed someone I know has one. I bought The Stand S/L and The Eyes of the Dragon S/L from him in January and he said he had LSOE S/L for sale too. That was before the next DT book was announced and after those two books, I was broke so I passed on it.

I'm still waiting to hear back. I doubt I ever will though.

At least you gave it a shot. I can't find ANY single copies around. Even at insane prices

I doubt it. They probably just haven't updated that aspect of the website yet.

Good luck!

I'm thinking I might be better off trying to get a signed limited of WTTKH on the secondary market when it's published.

Yeah, it's hard to call. Do you have copies of the other DT S/L books at all? Or are they just higher numbered (>800)?

I don't, at least not yet. Hopefully in the near future but if not I will make it my mission for WTTKH to be my first.
