Ok...my new (used) car insurance needs to be paid and funds are low. The above price will include fully insured shipping with Royal mail Airsure...estimated delivery 3-5 days.

No sale means they will have to go to ebay and I hate...I mean, really hate with a passion (probably 'cos I'm Scottish)...having to pay them 10% of the sale price.

You may or may not know that i have recently adopted a dog (pictured below) called Annabel from a local Dog Rescue Centre called just for dogs (http://justfordogs.org/) which is a registered charity. Annabel brought so much happiness to my life and that of my girlfriend too, she is such a great tempered fun loving dog who just lives for someone scratching her belly. And i owe having her happy soul in the house to just for dogs, now they aren't in the best financial state at the moment so i though i would help out a little bit and say thank you for giving Annabel a second start in life!
http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz116/tito_villa/Annabel1.jpg

Later on tonight ( after i have uploaded pics) i will have a slipcased , numbered out of 200, remarqued copy of Joe Hill's Gunpowder for sale with 100% of the sale going to just for dogs. Vinnie Chong has once again out done himself and has come up with a remarque that is very different than all the others i have seen, depicting a never before illustrated part of the story.

I would put the book on ebay but don't want them taking any of the money that can help the charity! So i will be accepting best offers via pm or email - dip_dab@hotmail.co.uk until midnight GMT Saturday and will include free postage to anywhere in the world, so please keep this in mind if you are considering a bid.
Muchos thanks in advance!

That is one cool looking Dog!
If I was a Joe Hill collector, I'd be bidding to support a good cause like that. My wife and I often support similar protection agencies here in town. We got our cats from the local Cats Protection Centre, and the work they do is just amazing.

I hope some Hill collectors offer heaps for this! Good luck.

Interesting to see how this book has made the rounds! I bought it from David about 4 years ago and it resided on my shelf for a while before it passed hands again.

For any Joe Hill collectors out there...I am looking to sell my UK 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcovers of 20th Century Ghosts, Heart-Shaped Box, and Horns. All are in at least very fine condition. $20 each or $50 for all three. I can provide pics if you'd like. PM if interested.

e_taylor, I used to track a book's history when I bought it all the way to the publisher. I used to think that was a very fun part of collecting, until I couldn't do it, then it just because frustrating, lol. I don't WANT to sell my books, but I NEED to, lol. I'm keeping all my artwork, my remarques, and my Skeleton Crew Treasure Chest. Things that can't be replaced. Oh, and my Legacies S/L, because it is my first King signature.

I had no idea there would be a signed edition and I agree, it's very expensive.

*edit 01: by the way, I'm pretty sure I ordered the trade edition but I can't remember when or where and I can't find it in my inbox.
*edit 02: found it. I ordered a copy from Amazon.co.uk for Ģ15, I had no idea it would be $60 from the publisher.

I think I'm done with collecting King anthologies in limited editions. I'm sorry but this is nothing more than milking the collector. There is nothing about that book (other than the artificial scarcity) that warrants a $1k price tag, it's simply gouging.

I believe that I am going to officially call it quits on collecting any King signed anthologies. Look for what I currently own to show up in the classifieds soon.

<edit> I just read the CD thread that states 100 copies are being done. It's still too pricey for me.

Ya i guess only 83 are being sold too the public. I guess i see why so expensive if they have to pay each person. but really Kings siggy is the one im sure there paying the prettiest penny for! i think the "IT" lettered edition for $2000 was a worse gouge as they only have one author to pay. but im sure it will be a sweet book, so if you have the doe, why not.

Free, just pay shipping:

The Girl Who Loved Tim Gordon
Nightmares & Dreamscapes
Needful Things
Insomnia (first edition with full # line but no price on DJ)

All first editions, all fair condition. I'd say 'fair' is a moderate guess. Typical used bookstore condition except these came from a private collection. These will ship from Canada. I'd say $40-50 to US, same ammount overseas via surface mail.

I could trade these in for $10-12 but I'm in a giving mood. Someone jump on this.

I sent you a PM, Killbourne.

To clarify (for those of you who are wondering): I tried to sell this 'Salem's Lot 1st/1st edition copy and although there was some interest I've had no takers so far. I have a 2nd state ('Father Cody') DJ that goes with it but it looks like it will be easier to just sell the DJ and give away the book. If there's a kind soul who's prepared to pay a small sum for the book I'll still be happy to sell of course but frankly, I don't mind giving someone here the opportunity to own a true 1st edition of a scarce and important King book for free + shipping costs.

Hi All,

I'm selling my First Edition Copy of The Stand. The book itself is in great condition and has all First Edition identifiers (T39 and First Edition on Copyright Page). The dust jacket has some minor chipping at the top and bottom edges but is in overall very good condition. I need the money for my flight down to DC to attend the Mason Awards Signing. I'm asking $200, pretty firm on that. I'd like to sell it here first because I know all of you are avid King Collectors, if not I'll put it on ebay for all the hordes to bid on. Let me know. Not sure I know what you mean by "vouch for me". It's a message board. I don't know anyone personally. I have a First Edition The Stand which I have photos of that I will share with any interested party and am looking to sell it to a Stephen King fan. Why would you say Buyer Beware? Do you not allow new members here? I'm not coming on here asking someone to send me a money order or wire me cash. I deal with PayPal which covers both parties equally. What, exactly, is the issue?

Im rather new(kinda) here to the site myself, and let me personally say that everyone here is beyond courteous and would bend over backwards to help out a fellow member. The issue is that (although rare), people have been burned by less than well known sellers in that past. If you know that this is a message board, then you also understand what Buyer Beware means. We love new members, but most don't post a "For Sale" thread with there first or second post. They usually look around and see that we have a Classified thread.

Hello ndnick30, welcome. What Crowman was saying was for us to be careful. It's not just you that has had it said about them, and it's not just him that says it about people. We're all close here, we've all done multiple multiple transactions between each other, and we all look out for each other. Jerome (Crowman ... ummm, I mean Randall Flagg) is kinda TheDarkTower.org's great grandad. :)

As far as him asking if anyone can vouch for you, he was looking out for you. If you HAD dealt with someone here in the past, then maybe that would make this transaction go a little smoother in terms of trust, you know what I mean?

Do you not allow new members here? I'm not coming on here asking someone to send me a money order or wire me cash. I deal with PayPal which covers both parties equally. What, exactly, is the issue?
The issue is that (although rare), people have been burned by less than well known sellers in that past. If you know that this is a message board, then you also understand what Buyer Beware means. We love new members, but most don't post a "For Sale" thread with there first or second post. They usually look around and see that we have a Classified thread.

ndnick30 : I deal with PayPal which covers both parties equally. NOT everytime :wtf::orely::arg:

Well, I just found this site a few weeks ago. I lurked for a week or so to see the lay of the land, and I want to thank everyone here for posting about the Mason Awards as I secured the last two tickets on the first day that I found this site. I've checked several sites and found that The Stand is worth between 3-500 dollars based on condition, mine is in pretty good condition though chipped at the corners of the Dust Jacket and I know that the economy isn't the best right now. I need the money to fly out to DC to get my copy of The Shining and Salem's Lot signed so I figured I'd sell The Stand. If you would like me to put it on ebay and remove the classified, just say the word.

And what is this about PayPal not covering both parties. I've bought and sold things using PayPal for a few years and have had discrepancies and all have been satisfied fairly.

Nick, don't worry. It's just that the whole idea of buying and selling stuff on the forum is entirely based on 'trust'. You can imagine that many message boards have to deal with spammers and trolls - well, the same thing happens here every now and then so it's generally encouraged to first build up a bit of a 'relationship' with the board members before you start talking business. That's all!

Re: PayPal, Stockerlone has had some issues with another member here (who has since disappeared from the forum) who gladly accepted money for the books he sold but never actually sent them (instead he sold them to someone else). PayPal only mediates when a dispute is filed within 45 days I think and if the seller is smart and succeeds in making false promises until day 45 has passed, you're out of luck. At least, that's what I gathered.

Hey Nick,
Just guessing on your name :) im a noobie here too. The guys and girls on this site are really cool. this is a great site to be a part of for any king fan! I just wanted to give you a warm welcome. I hope to see you around the site.
Oh ya. I got a bit of a warning from randal flagg (AKA) Jerome, myself when i first started posting. I asure you he just looks out for the members here, as im sure he will continue to do as long as the site is here. I felt a little put off at first, but now i really appreciate where he is coming from.
Anyway hope to hear.
Take care,
Simon

Hey ndnick..
I think you should post you're stand pictures here in the classified.
It might help you sell & remove all doubts regarding your grading ability.
I've seen the jacket pictures you sent me, you've piqued my curiosity.
I'd like to see pics of the book as well.

***Sorry, I've made an error... I confused you pictures with somebody else's***
My curiosity is no longer piqued.

ndnick - from one new guy to another, welcome to the forum. This place is great, and Jerome helps keep it that way - not to mention he's a great source for advice on buying/selling. I did a similar thing with some books when I first got here - Jerome responded the exact same way. After I'd settled in a bit in the forum, a sale was easily made. This is a far better place to sell on than Fee-bay and you always know the books go to a good home.

Good morning ! Anyone interested in a UK Cycle of the Werewolf ? The NEL paperback, 1st edition 1st printing copy, UK price of 4.95 on back cover. No spine creasing, appears unread. Does have some yellowing to the top page edges and very minor rubbing to some of the edges like many paperbacks tend to get. Ended up with 2 copies while on my UK collection hunt !
$25 shipped in the US. or make me an offer.

Also if you happen to have a UK hardback 1st/1st Bachman Books for sale, I amlooking for one of them !

For sale:

"Can't Give This War Away: Three Iraqi Summers of Change and Conflict." (https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Cant-Give-This-War-Away-Three-Iraqi-Summers-of-Change-and-Conflict/166790313383761) Signed by the author - me!

This is a self-produced, yet legitimate-looking book derived from my various trips to Iraq as an embedded journalist, and this version is basically the 'dress rehearsal' that I'm using for editors and agents as I try to get it published for real. Book interest in Iraq is, to understate it, low to very low...so this might be the only version there ever is...

If you go to my Facebook page, you can read excerpts, see some previews, and get other info...contact me direct at rahfa@comcast.net:

https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Cant-Give-This-War-Away-Three-Iraqi-Summers-of-Change-and-Conflict/166790313383761

Book's $85, which I know is very expensive...but it's full-color with many photos and stories over 160 pages of high-quality paper, and it came out very well. That price covers shipping, and I'm happy to do a personalized dedication page thanking you by name for your support and interest (I can do a cheaper, non-personalized version on not-as-good paper for $70).

And on any sales to DT folks, I'll also kick back $10 to the DT fundraiser.

Anyone interested in an Original piece of Art by Mark Geyer. Its a pen drawing on what i would an opaque waxy paper, not sure what the proper name would be for that material. Its a scne dealing With Pet Sematary.
Was planningto frame it myself, but have other stuff to get framed and its not one of my favorites. So someone else should enjoy it. Accepting fair offers.
Its size is approximately 15 x 20 or tthere abouts, its a large drawing. I do have a pic available, email me at rrdunaway@msn.com if you can't see it here.

Shame you're selling these. Then again your decision may make someone else's day!! BTW thats a really fair price on the set of DT books, AE's and slipcases. Ha! I'm not that generous (or crazy) to give away a 1st edition lol. It was just a copy of the UK Illustrated edition. In good condition, but far from fine.
I started this new thread for people who (will hopefully) have items to give away as long as people cover shipping...

http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?12942-Free-to-Good-Home

I'm gonna see if I have any other UK BCE editions people may want and list these here soon...

Whew!!! You had me worried for a moment!! LOL Yeah, I've seen that thread and "give away" stuff all the time, but not like "officially". It's a truly great idea for these boards and I can't wait for the occasion to arise that I can "officially" contribute!!!!

Great Thread!! You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!!!

In response to my post here for my UK 'Salem's Lot Free to good home, WeDealIn Lead took me up on my offer.

I just posted the book today, and used a box I recently received a copy of The Stand in, sent to me from ELazansky. When I removed my shipping address label from the box, whose name and address did I see crossed out underneath? WeDealInLead's!!!

God I love this place. Small King Collectors world indeed!

That cardboard box is going to become a collector's item in itself pretty soon... :wtf:

Anyone interested in an Original piece of Art by Mark Geyer. Its a pen drawing on what i would an opaque waxy paper, not sure what the proper name would be for that material. Its a scne dealing With Pet Sematary.
Was planningto frame it myself, but have other stuff to get framed and its not one of my favorites. So someone else should enjoy it. Accepting fair offers.
Its size is approximately 15 x 20 or tthere abouts, its a large drawing. I do have a pic available, email me at rrdunaway@msn.com if you can't see it here.
The whole thing seems to be done by just making lines and varying the darkness of the ink.

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii93/namelessnpoor/PetSematary.jpg

Interesting. It is a piece that was specially commissioned by Jerad Walters for the big King art book by Centipede Press. But I have the original in my collection. At least I think I do. I'll have to dig it out and look.

I think we both have originals. But they vary a little bit. You really have to have them side by side to see the differences thought. This isn't my favorite piece either.

It looks like Bob's is a bit more of a "rough draft" and the artist added more detail to the piece Rusty has. I wonder if these are part of a set of drawings the artist worked on as he progressed to the final product.

P.S. Bob- What is the word on the tombstone to the left of the childs head in your piece?

Edit- On second look I'm not sure which one has more "detail" as they are both slightly different.

That is interesting, I can see the differences. Interested in owning both of them? I really don't know what value to place on it. What would you say in your opinion is an approximate value of something like this?
Funny to something posted that you assume you have the only one of, was never told it was the only one but I just assumed since it was an actual real drawing and nota copy or print.

I think I recall Mark telling me that he wasn't happy with the first one he did (yours) and redid the art (mine) to give it a darker feel. I really can't tell much difference though. They look pretty much the same to me. I'm not sure of a value for either of these. I would guess $300 to $500? Maybe?

I was figuring around $300 my self, so i had it listed on ebay for $199 starting big buy it now $250,lowered it to $199 but it now and still no takers and the auction ended with no sale. Relisted it lower but thought twice and took it back down.
I am probably never going to frame it, so was hoping someone else would be interested. If anyone is interested let me know! We can make some sort of deal.

Hey man, maybe you should finalize your selling prices before you post them. We had an agreement for a price. I was waiting for you to send me your Paypal info after I agreed to pay the Paypal fee.

I waited days wondering when you were going to respond and nothing.. Then I see you had jacked up the price $100 and then sold it to someone else.

That's pretty low in my book. You sold out your honor for $100... Congrats.

Ric

Well now that you've outed yourself for the immature jackass that you are, I'll let the forum make up their own minds.

All sales are on the SELLER'S TERMS, period. Unfortunately for you, those terms did not include selling to you.

My recommendation to the rest of the forum would be to NOT DEAL with you under any circumstances. You've shown yourself to be unreasonable and overly emotional. For someone that's been here less than a month, that's a massive red flag.

Stop crying, suck it up and move on.

Hehe, truth hurts I guess. The PMs he sent me were very colorful... and I'm not even going to reply directly to his posts.

The fact is, it went down just like I said. I even told him I had bought a S/L from Shannon a few weeks ago just in case me being a newish member would cause any possible hesitation... He didn't say that was a problem.

And boy am I glad I didn't send him a money order, seeing his true colors. That's how he wanted payment, at first... Yikes. I hope no one else did...

And to mulleins, I'd be happy to show my PMs, sent and received. That's forbidden on some boards though, but if it would help show the truth and it is ok, sure thing.

I have a few extra copies of 1st/1st Gunslingers. I'd be willing to part with one or two of my non-fine ones if anyone is interested (DJ has some of the usually minor rips and the very small markings on the book itself, but nothing bad really and they are NOT library editions or anything). I can take pictures obviously so you can see their condition.

Just thought that someone who didn't want to pay $700-$1000 or more for a 1st/1st Gunslinger might be interested in a copy. :) I have to see what I'm into them for, but definitely will sell them for less than EBay/AbeBooks/Etc!!!

I feel like this book will go up in value a lot after the movie/tv series comes out and there is a bunch of new eyeballs on the entire series.....shrug...

Any interest? I can put pictures up tonight of a couple of them I'd be willing to let go. I seriously have a problem...I think I have 7 copies now. :(

I agree that on the surface, it appears a bit "odd". But, I've seen an Anderson signed Trade for sale ONCE over the course of the last year on eBay (this is it). In comparison, the signed Artist Edition is available rather frequently.

For all of you economists out there, simply employing a strategy aligned with the principles of price elasticity of demand......

Let's say a Fine DTVI is worth $25. Is Darrel Anderson's signature worth $100? In a similar vein, I bet there are fewer King flat-signed DTVI firsts than there are S/L, but I don't think that would make it more valuable. I could be wrong though :)

Here is the 1st Gunslinger 1st/1st I have for sale. This one is the NICER one. I tried to take pictures of it to show it in the worst light. It does NOT have a brodart cover on it (which hides blemishes!), so you can see it clearly.

As I was taking the pictures, I noticed that the book itself is in very good shape. There is one blemish on the edge where it is a bit worn, but it is very tiny. There are a couple of little discoloration spots, but they are very small and you can barely see them in the picture b/c they are not that noticeable at all (first time I saw them was when I was taking these pictures actually). Spine is great.

I'd say VG book....anyone feel free to chime in as I'm no expert. I can take more pics if needed. Just a few issues for such an old book.

I'd say the DJ is in Good condition. Again, someone else can chime in if I'm wrong. I just feel like if I got it and it was described like this to me, then I'd be happy with what I received.

PM Sent, if the price is reasonable - I'll take it.

"Here is the 1st Gunslinger 1st/1st I have for sale.

I just feel like if I got it and it was described like this to me, then I'd be happy with what I received."

Here is the 2nd Gunslinger I can part with.

This DJ is actually nicer than the previous one I just noticed and there are pictures for you to judge yourself. I'd say the DJ is Good+/VG-. That's just my opinion though, so take it with a grain of salt.

The book looks great except for these dark marks on the top edge of the pages. Not sure what it is or if it can be erased somehow. It looks like the previous owner might have tried to erase it and then decided not to as it seems slightly lighter colored in one spot on the marks. Not really noticeable and maybe I'm just being picky.

Spine looks great to me too.

Let me know if you want it! $400 + actual shipping

I would like to know if anyone here is interested in a copy of Contraband #2? Bottom left in the pic, contains some 'college era' King work.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8VpUCxrgaV8/TiWxG9R5GfI/AAAAAAAAA4g/-98Zio7Wdb4/s640/IMG_7389.JPG

Please PM me with an offer! I want to clarify that I'm mainly gauging interest right now. I'm working on something else and if that comes through, I will sell my Contraband #2.
