I have a question on the Charnel House “Lettered Regulators (B) at bargain basement price of $12K.”

Out of curiosity, what was this book originally issued at and if on sale what has it gone for or at least been listed at.

I would personally rather use the money on a house payment or car, but I guess if you have the money and you are a huge King fan, to each their own.

Now I am curious on what the most expensive King book is.

Sorry if this is off topic.

My using the term bargain basement was a joke as $12K is a high price and from the publisher of the book. The book originally sold for $1500. The book's value has soared since. Recent sale prices were between $9k - $10K - I know because I got one last year.

Some of the most expensive King books that are not "one of a kind" items are 'Salem's Lot with first-state dust jacket, Asbestos Firestarter (lettered), Misery lettered, Regulators lettered, The Plant set, New Lieutenant's Rap...

I'd throw in Green Mile Lettered...I know one just went for $8,000

I sold one for $10k last fall. But I fear we are seeing pricing drops lately

I wouldn't worry about that post. It just stated a fact. Actually, it does you a favor by making potential buyers aware that supply of these rare items hasn't increased...and that the best deal was just offered to the folks here at tdt.org.

If you know, does the original owner want to kick themselves for not accepting the initial offer for these items a year or so ago? You've made a great offer on these items...and a great point about the sales tax. I have more urgent SK requirements now but that could change. I wish you good luck in making a sale soonest!

I am looking to sell the last bunch of books from my collection. Nothing too rare, which paradoxically means that they are very hard to sell because the market for US King books is mostly the US itself... and our friends from the US can easily get the books from a local seller, without the hassle of high shipping costs and long delivery times.

So I was wondering if you guys know any other Dutch (or Belgian/German) collectors that are not on the forum but might be interested in these books?

I'm offering for sale:


a full set of DT books. The Gunslinger is a beautiful 2nd edition, volumes 2-4 are Grant 1sts (DOTT is signed by Phil Hale) and volumes 5-7 plus LSOE and TWTTKH are Artist Editions. All books are in very nice condition.
a set of Suntup Artist Gift Editions: Misery, Horns, Rosemary's Baby (2x, displaying both sides of the double-printed DJ), and I Am Legend. I also have Red Dragon and Fahrenheit 451 on order. I removed the shrink-wrap but other than that the books are in the condition I received them in from the publisher.


I also still have my US and UK Skeleton Crew proofs for sale, but the market for proofs seems to have shrunk so I don't have high hopes haha...

If you happen to know someone that might be interested, please let me know!! Please note that I will still happily sell these books to collectors from the US or elsewhere in the world... it's just that previous attempts have been unsuccessful so far...

Up at the top of the page here click Gallery, then over on the right side of the second brown line it says Home Search Profile Upload Photos ... click Upload Photos. Just copy/paste whichever one you want (I use Medium Image) into your entry and photo will show up. Easy Peasy Japanesy.

I think the lowest I've seen on eBay was $700, so your $650 price point sounds right, give or take $50. One of my biggest collecting regrets is being on vacation and missing out when they sold for, I think, $75.

As someone who tried to get a pre-sale at a few times, David is going to just let the sale go public. There is no pre-sale or reservations on items. Good on David (even to my dismay! haha)

Do you collect S/L, flatsigned books, first editions, magazines, etc....?????

I was looking for a magazine the other night and found my Elevation Proof and i had to shake my head in amazement at the stuff i collected. I have 51 tubs filled with Stephen King junk. 4 bookshelves full of signed King on one wall and another bookshelf of Miscellaneous on the left.

How could anyone besides David know the value of any of this junk (I MEAN Wonderful collectables)! You made a good decision to go through David. I was laughing thinking my nephew would look at that Elevation Proof and think it was simply a paperback book and take it to goodwill!

I would love to hear some stories!
