I have a CD slipcase for Mr Mercedes. Got it as part of a special deal from CD but I don't ever see myself getting a signed copy to live in it, nor do I see me getting the other two to complete the slipcase set.

If anyone in the UK is looking for one, I'd be interested in trading it for some of the WHSmith variant editions of his later books I am missing. From memory I think I need Doctor Sleep, Revival and EOW.

Feel free to touch base to see if there is a trade you'd be interested in. I'm in New Zealand remember so covering shipping for our own packages would need to be part of the agreement.

Dave,

Be careful with the "last and lowest". You put yourself in an awkward position if you somehow lower the price or offer one/some/all of them.

They are great pieces, and were I able to, I'd buy one.

posted this in the wrong thread yesterday:

so, any offers on one of these posters:

http://stephenking.com/promo/hard_li...kes/index.html

apparently, only five winners received one. i actually got one by participating in a two-hour interview with the publisher a couple of weeks ago. they sent me that and a $300 Amazon gift card. they had my e-mail from when i requested copies of King's material from Hard Listening a couple of years ago.

the poster is in pretty good shape but is somewhat wrinkled and all from the method in which the shipped it to me.

does this really mean there are only 6 out there in the wild?

Hey guys, when I was at the Whelan's they showed us many pieces that they had laid out and framed. They asked us to arrange them in the order we thought from least to most valuable.... in our eyes. IT was a TON of fun. My wife was the only one to actually move a piece around as me and David thought it was pretty bang on. So... head over to their site! The idea of these works of art was to allow people to hang an original Whelan on their wall at an affordable price! Some of them are cool and I think they start at $150 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They ARE NOT King related alas but again... they are Whelan's AND at a great price. Thanks all! kris

A long time ago I promised some of my friends here that I would post a couple of things for sale that need to go because of shelf space limitation and/or discontinuation of a specific sub-collection (like my magazines). There's nothing earth-shattering in there but some of it may be someone's needful thing anyway. I am open to all offers and am not looking for premium market prices. That said, I would really appreciate it if you could help me out a little by buying a few extra items (for a good price of course), even if you don't really need them. This goes for the magazines and anthologies especially since there is no market for them in my country. I am aware that most of what I have for sale is not hard to find in the US but I'd be grateful if you could help me out regardless. I will also be happy to add some items for free if you buy other stuff. I just don't have the space for it anymore and it would be a waste to throw it out!

Some of the items for sale will be sold as a set only. Please ask questions in this thread and send me your offers via PM. I know there are a few items in there that several people are interested in - in that case, highest bid wins (but we'll discuss that via PM as well). Last but not least - I have very limited time at the moment so I did not include detailed descriptions of condition (and contents in case of magazines/anthologies) but feel free to ask and I will provide more info, pics etc. Here goes (I added spoiler tags so the page doesn't get cluttered too much if someone quotes my entire post  ):

More magazines. The item in the light blue plastic sleeve may be of interest to some of you. I used to own an unsigned copy of the New Lieutenant's Rap. I also received several questions about the NLR letter and printouts. It is basically sold already, but I wanted to share a few pics anyway. I really have no idea as to what it's worth on its own (I received it together with an unsigned copy of the NLR). The set of printouts seems to be the full booklet. A nice touch is the small sample of the material that was used for the wrappers of the booklet. I forgot about that.

The name of the original recipient who sold me the NLR was cut out by them, not me.

Updated with SOLD items. Still plenty of goodies left!

Not in Whispers. That was published in 1982....15 years before the Wrightson artwork. The Whispers (Special Stephen King Issue) contained a suite of 6 (I think) pen and ink pieces by John Stewart (plus the full color wraparound cover). Also single pieces by J.K. Potter and some other artists that I don't know much about (Brad Foster, Rick Harrison).

I'll give you positive feedback to compensate for the hate. I love reading honest opinions.

Apologies for piggy-backing your post sir, but that Salem's Lot print by Glen Chadbourne.....a couple years ago I'm pretty sure he gave me the original painting for that piece...I'll have to check, but I think I have it in my storage unit and completely forgot I own it.

Collectors...what do you think such an original is worth? I might be a seller...

What size is it?

Kris, that's a stellar piece. I hope it goes to a good home!

Is it just me or is Bernie's King-related original/published pieces of art getting more and more difficult to find?

Oh I would agree. Not to mention pricey... Detailed, published work is through the roof since he retired. Just look at some of the auctions at Heritage! Crazy....

It is a nice sized piece of art. I was surprised to learn that Wrightson did any pencil drawings for the TV Guide appearance of the abridged "Before The Play." I thought he just did the two color pieces. Having read the complete version in Whispers years ago I never even looked at the text in the TV Guide version and completely missed the other artwork. I enjoyed seeing it and hope the new owner enjoys having it.

And I agree that King related artwork by Wrightson is getting pricier and harder to find. I've been buying everything I could get my hands on for years but I couldn't afford the last Cycle Of The Werewolf painting that sold at Heritage Auctions.

Does anybody know if this (or any art) was published in Whispers? Or, in the '97 TV Guide only?

Not in Whispers. That was published in 1982....15 years before the Wrightson artwork. The Whispers (Special Stephen King Issue) contained a suite of 6 (I think) pen and ink pieces by John Stewart (plus the full color wraparound cover). Also single pieces by J.K. Potter and some other artists that I don't know much about (Brad Foster, Rick Harrison).

I didnt seeing them either

Carrie, Flat Signed, dated, 1st ed, 1st printing.
All the 1st true edition points present, first edition, p6, I don't want to crack open to photograph, this copy appears to have never been read.
Book is square and tight, no corner bumps. Jacket is pretty decent as well, has wrinkles but no rips or tearing
I do not have an asking price (bottom line is probably somewhere around 975), but would prefer trading.
Al-tho I detest eBay, I wanted to post here 1st, I would preferably trade for any one of the other Doubleday's

Stephen King S/L GRAB BAG Sale.

All books are signed by King (and others, as applicable). Condition for all books is Near Fine or better (nothing more than minor shelf wear), with the exception of the Whispers which of course has spine fading (but not as much as some copies I've seen). From non-smoking home.

***IMPORTANT / IMPORTANT The first 48 hours I will reserve for anyone wishing to buy all 13 books. IMPORTANT / IMPORTANT***

After that; first come, first serve. I'll be glad to answer questions; send photos; discuss the general state of SK collecting, etc., but none of that constitutes "pending sale" or "commitment to purchase." So to be fair, the first person to commit to payment gets the books; not necessarily the first person to engage in a Q/A conversation.

In case of multiple requests involving the same book, I'll go by time stamp on the PM. Yes you may indicate your desire to purchase a selection of books during the first 48 hours, and I'll count that time stamp if no one buys the entire lot. But if someone comes in at hour 47 and commits to the lot, they get it, regardless of earlier interest for individual books.

At these prices I ask that you cover the shipping cost, at the method of your choice. All packages will be insured (I'll spring for that).

All books have an actual number. None are PC copies.

PayPal, check, money order--it's all good.

BUY ANY 3 BOOKS: $650
BUY ANY 4 BOOKS: $825
BUY ANY 5 BOOKS: $980
BUY ANY 6 BOOKS: $1,140
BUY ALL 13 BOOKS: $2,158 (that's $166 per book)

Book list:

For $50... I would defiantly go for yours at this juncture:)

Definitely! Why would anyone go for a 7th printing when 1st edition copies are available pretty reasonably?

And either definitely or defiantly works in this case!

Was anyone interested in this mag when it was up for auction last week? I won the lot that it was in and the seller sent TWO copies! I'd be willing to trade for another mag featuring King on the cover or one featuring a story/non-fic piece I might not have. Please email me at JonathanReitan@gmail.com.

This mag is rather rare (not hugely collectible, but rare)...in my collecting I've only seen three copies come up for sale in nearly 15 years. My first one I sold several years ago and it took me this long to find the second auction.

Pretty sure you bought that from Pat Cramer. I think he stumbled onto several copies of that. Still, it is pretty rare and I bought the second copy that he put on ABE. He listed another one shortly after that. Prices them a little higher each time. The price you are asking is very fair for a pretty scarce book.

Yes that's the one. I see he has one listed for $99.50 now. My copy is still available but I'm doubling the price. Just kidding. Still $49.50 all day long.

As I said, I think that is a fair price and that is what I paid Pat for the second copy. Looking at my records I paid about $30 back when it was released in 2005 for my first copy. It really does seem to be scarce and is the first appearance of Colorado Kid (as an excerpt).

As an aside, I have known Pat Cramer for many years. I bought a lot of stuff from him 20 years or so ago (magazines, promos, etc.) He was one of the first dealers to list such King related items on ABE. I met him in person once in Dallas at a B&N. Peter Straub was doing a reading/signing in 2000 to promote his new (at the time) book Magic Terror. It was a nice event and Bev Vincent was there too!

I have a few Copies of "End of Watch" Signed. They are 1st editions 7th printing.
These are from the National book Festival.

$150 each, that includes shipping in the US. PP as gift.

Can provide pictures of the exact book and signature you will be receiving via email, Hcog88@yahoo.com

Will ship anywhere else for the proper postage fee.
Very fast shipping upon payment, M-f will ship same day payment received. Any weekend sales will ship the following Monday.

I many not be known here on this board but I have excellent eBay feedback: Odinseye2008

I love my 7th printing copy signed by Stephen King. Having attended the event and being able to stand next to King and say Hi and then be one of 400 to get a 7th printing of EOW signed by my favorite author makes quite a nice prize. and it was only $30 and there are only 400 of these signed. MUCH rarer than the first edition first printing. :lol1: I am sure Lot Guy might have a spare if anyone needs this rare collectable. Not sure how much he is selling them for though. :panic:

MUCH rarer than the first edition first printing.

This reminds me of something I read in an online book catalog once a few years ago. The catalog was from biblioctopus.com. Dracula was published in 1897 in a first edition of about 3,000 copies. Later that same year there were subsequent printings in numbers not known. They were not designated later printings as such but can be identified by the presence of publisher's catalogs inserted at the back of the book and being printed on a thinner paper than the first printing.

In the catalog I read "Jen the Zen" described owning one of the later printings as "worse than having gum in your hair."

I laughed at that and suspect that later printings of recent King books are about as difficult to rid oneself of. Signed or not.

If you have some time to kill you might check out biblioctopus online catalog. The items for sale are rare and pricey but the reading is free and I guarantee you won't be bored with her descriptions.

Firstly, thank you Bob for highlighting this site, it's a new one to me. I just spent 5 minutes looking through the latest catalogue and even the intro is a fun read. Any Seller that espouses the following for defining books is a definite winner for me!

"We never spin “fine” into a term that can safely be used for
an item with faults, so we don’t use hypnotizing enhancements like fine plus, fine
indeed, very fine, unusually fine, extremely fine, exceptionally fine, exceedingly
fine, phenomenally fine, astonishingly fine, implausibly fine, unbelievably fine,
or unimaginably fine."

IMHO The signature in these 7th printing are worth more for their cut-up value. Cut the signature out of the book take it & have it matted & framed along with a Finders Keepers Broadsheet or tip them in 1st editions.

Tipped in signatures are generally the least desirable signatures I can think of (exceptions like the Folio limited of 100 come to mind though).

I'm just saying they are worth more than a signed 7th.
YES! Tip them into 1st editions ..If you check (Try Richard Matheson)I think you will find SOME very rare & expensive books listed with tipped in signatures.

Listed and bought are two different things methinks. Though, with that said, if it was a signed and dated book plate of the same year of publication I could see it being more desirable. But to cut out Matheson's sig from a later book and add it to an early 1st wouldn't drive the value of the book much more than a regular 1st in the same condition.

I am offering a set of Michael Whelan Prints all number 19. Back when the End of the Road Giclee was announced I was one of the first to order one and I ordered one of the lower limitation artist editions, that day or the next I received a call from Audrey Whelan, she told me there was an error and there were more orders for the artist edition than were actually available. She asked if I was willing to take one of the regular 1of/99 edition, If so I could have #19. Of course I was happy to accept, then she offered me the 2 earlier prints #19 as well as #19 would be my number going forward. With this sale I will contact Audrey and transfer ownership of #19 for future prints.

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/DTEotR.JPG

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/DTEotRsig.JPG

The End of the Road Giclee is 19/99 image size 20 X 28. Unfortunately when I pulled it down I noticed for the first time a crease in the giclee in the bottom middle of the image, not sure when this happened but it does not go through to the back. Because of this I will sell for 395.00, 100.00 less than I paid which is still the price.

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/theDTprint1.jpg

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/TheDTprintsig.JPG

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/theDTprint2.JPG

The Dark Tower print is #19/500 image size 19 1/2 X 32. The is a minor wrinkle to the top right corner, this happened in shipping as neither print has been out of the shipping tube until today, the wrinkle would not be visible after matting/framing. This one will be 170.00, 25.00 of the price of 195.00

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/CKprint.jpg

http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/CKsig.JPG

The Crimson King is 19/500 image size is 28 X 18 and is mint. Price 195.00.

So the price for the set would be 760.00 plus shipping

The following for sale. Not sure what to really ask as far as price but offers are more than welcome.

CD Double Day years: I have Carrie, 'Salem's Lot, and The Shining preordered. These are all matching AEs #443 with matching portfolios from Carrie and the forthcoming for 'Salem's Lot. I don't think one has been offered for The Shining yet. None are Remarqued except for The Shining which will be done by Chadbourne. The buyer will have the rights to my number moving forward from CD. I'll update with Mindy when sold.

PS King Anniversary editions: I have all the releases so far matched throughout #82 with the variant covers for Thinner and Skeleton Crew included (numbers aren't matched on variants). Buyer will have the right to my number moving forward from Dave over at Overlook Connection. I'll update with Dave when sold.

Artist Glenn Chadbourne Remarque Series Of King Books: These are through Dave over at the Overlook Connection. All matching numbers #59 but most of the books aren't 1st editions and are book club or later editions. Buyer would have the right to my number moving forward with Dave. Here are the ones I have so far: The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, Carrie, Cujo, The Dark Man, The Dead Zone, Different Seasons, Firestarter, The Gunslinger (Viking), The Drawing of the Three (Viking), IT, Joyland PB sealed w/hardback, Mr Mercedes, Night Shift, Joe Hill U.K. version of NOS4A2, Joe Hill U.S. version of NOS4A2, 'Salem's Lot, The Shining, and The Stand.

A "former" member here has authorized me to sell 10 signed copies (if I can)....price is $525 (less than what has sold on eBay)...Can provide pamphlet from Monday night and pretty sure she has multiple actual tickets, so complete package. You want a copy, email me at david@bettsbooks please.

Sorry, Matt, not trying to steal any of your thunder, just helping out another friend....it costs me nothing to try to sell for her and she will give me a little kickback, not big, but in all transparency, I am making a little money on each sale.
