From the menu at the top of the page click Gallery. From the upper right of the menu on top of the new page click Upload Photos. Click the Browse button. Navigate to the photo on your hard drive and select it. Click Open. Wait for the photo up upload. When it's complete you will be taken back to your gallery.

You have three picture options. You can post the thumbnail, the medium sized image below the thumbnail, or you can click on the medium sized image and another window will open with a full sized image. Right click the image you want. Select Copy Image Location, then click the http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/images/editor/insertimage.png button in the thread you want and paste the image location in the box. Click OK.

notes: You can only upload one photo at a time. The site will reduce your large photo to the largest image allowed in the post. There are a few other options that you can play with after you learn the basics.

I know a few Canadien's that have po boxes in the states for the same reason, I don't understand why the postage is so much.

The Post Office makes money. They make over a billion a year and could make more if they were allowed.

In 2006 Congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA) requiring pre-funding of health benefits for USPS retirees for 75 years. The amount they must set aside each year is 5.5 billion dollars until fully funded.

That is what is "bankrupting" the USPS. That is why they have closed about 200 Post Offices in the last couple of years.

The reason for this is the same as the reason for dismantling the Canadian Post. Rather than enjoy and honor a Constitutional institution; there are some venal and parasitic one percenters (and their sycophants) that prefer personal and corporate profit over the public good and public commons.

In France we keep hearing the french post office complaining that people are sending less letters, and therefore they increase the cost of stamps. Come on, that's absolute BS : OK I am sure that the stamps are less sold, but I am extremely confident that they earn a lot more money as the amount of packages etc have probably exploded with ecommerce.

I know i haven't been here long enough to know many backstories, and for all i know i'm stepping into the middle of a shitstorm, but from my perspective i saw nothing wrong with the post. I know that Betts prices are excellent, so knowing I might get a copy there for $28 is good to know. Knowing that others have got their copies for $50 tells me that this is a very resonable priced as well. As a newish collector i appreciate this kind of information.

As i said, there may be more to this story than i am aware of, and i will apologize for sticking my nose in when unwarranted, but i felt that there was another perspective as well.

I was going to remove the artwork and frame it but after conferring with some of my art pals... they said to give the option to the buyer. SO... you can buy it on the book as you see for $725 OR I will have it pro framed and the cost will be $850 OR I can have it removed from the book and sent for $725. VERY cool to have a full color monochrome of this prelim acutally on a Salems cover... I just need some cash to get caught up. Please ask any questions you see. Actual art is 9.5x5 inches. That is a nice book, Foster. I'm trying to remember who "Marty" is. That book was signed at the Bag of Bones signing at Betts Bookstore on 11/23/98. Stu Tinker hosted a nice dinner at a restaurant just outside of Bangor for 40 or 50 people the night before. Terry Goodkind and his wife were there as was Erik Wilson who did the illustration for Little Sisters of Eluria. IIRC, he was dating King's secretary Marsha deFilippo at the time and she was there too. Terry Goodkind was graciously signing books all night long and Erik was signing and drawing pictures of Roland and The Dark Tower for anyone who asked him. I thought I met everyone but don't recall a Marty. I remember sitting with Charlie Fried and George Beahm during dinner and having a wonderful time. The signing was the next day and several people (including Marty apparently) got his Legends signed by King. Each person could get two books signed but I didn't get my Legends signed. I had other books I wanted signed. I wish I could remember meeting Marty.

I was going to remove the artwork and frame it but after conferring with some of my art pals... they said to give the option to the buyer. I need $1329US to get out of debt. That is the price for this piece. IT is large... 16x20. Framed, oil on canvas... crazy colors.... and a WHELAN!!! I have never seen one even remotely this price before... I know I have advertised it a few times.... but this is my rock bottom dollar and I lowered it on Ebay to meet this target. Heritage auctions has it pegged at $2500 but will not list it until I have a min of $5K in total. Strange but that is their rules.... thanks:)

I have a number of magazines and anthologies with 1st appearances of short fiction left that I don't have room for. The most interesting magazine I have is probably the Redbook issue with Mrs. Todd's Shortcut.

The thing is, I would really like to sell the whole bunch as a single lot because it will be impossible to sell everything separately - there is no interest in this stuff in the Netherlands and it is not practical for my friends in the US to buy single magazines from me when they can get them much cheaper domestically.

Are there any budding magazine/anthology collectors who'd like to help me out by buying the lot? It will be easy to sell any duplicates or unwanted items once they reside in the US. I am prepared to let everything go for way below market value.

My stuff is stored in boxes until I move to the new house next week but if anyone wants to know what I have I'll be happy to get you a list after everything is unpacked!

I should probably mention that these are all items from the late 70s to early 90s. I don't have any Cavaliers anymore but there are probably a few Playboys in there, as far as men's magazines go. Most of the magazines are not in mint condition - I'll be happy to take pics once I unpacked everything.

I was just curious to see if they would be in a range I could afford. I'm not actively hunting out magazines, but for a bulk deal to kick start a collection of them, I was a bit interested.
