Hi all --

I'm going to offer my Rainy Season print up again and see if anyone is interested.

(Mine is actually the one photographed for our Catalog image -- http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=3551)

I'd really like to get at least $1,100 for it -- but the market being what it is lately, I'll entertain best offers.

Right now it's just in a cheapy frame to keep it safe more than to display it. I can either try to send it as-is, or take it out and send it rolled.

PM or email me at pdj@pdjennings.com ... thanks!

I have a trade edition Cycle of the Werewolves in a slip case along with a signed numbered Cycle portfolio (#288) and it comes with an extra print that is signed and a picture of him signing it.

I am looking to get $500 for the set. I will post pics later...don't have time right now.

Please reply here if you are interested.

I will also be posting more stuff later. I have decided that I need the money more than I need my books. :( Very sad day for me...but I gotta do what I gotta do to survive!

As for the Cycle-set: I'd be interested in the portfolio but I imagine you'd rather sell the set as a whole (and rightfully so!)... good luck selling!

Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine...

The only SK related issue that I am missing is the October 1978 issue. I have doubles of just about every other magazine with the "Gunslinger series" of excerpts.

If anyone has a spare October '78 and would be willing to trade for 1 or more of the others, please let me know.

Rick, Congrats! Is this your first?

Sorry about the delay in getting stuff posted. Hubby has been working nights. The two year old has a cold and is miserable and the 7 month old wants to get into trouble constantly, doesn't leave me any time to get into the totes to make the list. I will get it up soon, promise.

I know this is a real longshot but I am offering my Susannah in the swamp painting by Berni Wrightson from Wolves of the Calla. I got a new dog 2 weeks ago and the first night she broke her leg so I have over 3,000.00 in Vet bills to pay. Here is the painting unframed, it will include the frame I had done. I purchased the painting directly from the Wrightsons and paid 5,000.00, I am negotiable on the price.

Here is the painting:

And here is my new dog "OY":

Oh no...poor puppy!

The good thing about cats and dogs is they don't feel sorry for themselves...they just deal with the situation as it arises and don't cry about it....they let us do it for them. So puppy doesn't care!

Of course....about the vet bills...people DO care...

(Also you can send smaller, lighter packages for less than the $53 mentioned above.)

Yes. Depending on a book's size, I pay anywhere from about $12 to $40 for shipping from the US to The Netherlands (using USPS). Granted, it may take up to a couple of weeks for a book to arrive but I've never lost one.

Does anyone have an idea what the Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah blue softcover Grant proof has been worth lately?

I'm probably going to list one shortly - I have to raise some $$ to pay for my 'entirely-too-expensive-can't-really-afford-it' incoming new 'pride and joy' - but I don't have a clue what they've been selling for or what anyone would even want to pay.

Anybody want to make an offer?

Again: Blue softcover Grant-issused SoS proof...as new, read once by me.

Let me know!

Edit: I did see the ones on ebay at $300 referred to in the post below...but I don't even take that price seriously...haha...

There are three out on eBay right now (it looks like two from a single seller) that range in price from about $250-$350. There's one out on ABE for about $330. Two auctions in that same category did not sell. I'd say a valid price would be, probably, about $200.

Once I actually have it in my hand I can figure asking price (should have it by Saturday). If anyone is interested please let me know by Tuesday 12/22. I'll post pictures once I have it. Yeah, he's pretty fair with me. I had bought the S/L Skeleton Crew from him several years back and then had to sell it about a year and a half ago and he bought it back for the same price I had originally paid. Good idea to check his price first though I agree. If the price is about the same as what anyone here would want to pay, I'd certainly rather one of you get it.

Hi Everyone, just thought I would throw this out there. I just bought a high dollar book for my collection and need to recoup some of my losses asap ( especially since Christmas is here...lol ) I just put a Mint Signed copy of Just After Sunset on ebay. I went to this signing myself and I am including the original ticket purchase receipt from the Odyssey Bookstore, the original ticket stub, the flyer from the event and the bookmark they were giving away. So theres all the provenance you would need !!! I have it as a buy it now of 160 but if anyone here wants it, and can pay with paypal right away...I will do 140 shipped !!! That's a VERY good deal there guys, and I can vouch for Rusher as I have done business with her before and things worked out very well.

I gotta ask though Rusher, how did you end up with the ticket stub. Were you in that group of us that found and raided the ticket bin under the table out front or did you go in after we had picked over it?

Rusher
12-18-2009, 02:40 PM
Thanks so much guys...the books been sold !!!!!

Yes Sam, I was waiting in the hallway and saw the box full of ticket stubs under the folding table. There was no one around so I sent over the youngest person in our group ( 15 ) and she snagged a handful and the funniest and weirdest thing of all was....my own personal number was there. What are the odds of that ?????? So the ticket number on this ticket stub was my exact number in the line. Weird huh ?

Sam
12-18-2009, 03:29 PM
Same thing happened to me. One of our group dragged the ticket stubs out, and we jumped in like it was the ball pit at Mickey D's. I pulled three blue stubs (even thought two of my book stubs had been red:evil:) and then found my very number. Damn right I kept it. I have only one signed copy left now of JAS(the other three having gone to live at other homes), and it's the one with MY number. And I'm NOT parting with that one for any price.

But I do have a couple of Signed Limiteds for sale if anyone is interested.
There is some room for negotiation for the From a Buick 8, and I am willing to entertain trade offers.

Weird huh ?

The book will now have a new home on my shelf !!!
Thanks !!!!

I need to sell my copy of the S/L Regulators I BIN'd off ebay a few months back to help fund an S/L Stand I purchased from the same seller after the first deal was completed. I'd like to keep them both as this book is also a Stand collectible, but holiday overspending has caught up with me.

This copy has one of the best checks I've ever seen; it's made out to Nick Andros from The Stand. The book is in unread very fine condition. The outer box has very minor shelf wear on the art, but is structurally perfect. I can send pics if desired - pm me your email address.

Asking $800 plus shipping.

By the way, I'd also trade this plus $450 for an S/L 'Salem's Lot.

Bumping this, since I added a few things...

So, in the waning days before this goes to a 'pay system,' I'm going to announce a few high end items...I'm sure if they do sell, I'll donate a bit of the proceeds to the site!

I'll add to this later...don't really expect much movement with the holidays (and prices!), but figured I'd put it out there.

These prices include shipping...offers are great; these are about my lowest selling prices, but if you think a price is totally out of wack, just make an offer anyway. I might agree!...it's not a fire sale...just trying to pare down my collection to the core matched set of 17 s/ls I have, and bring in some cash...but I'm not in any trouble, don't worry! Haha...

I'm willing to entertain any wild trades!

Again - these are the prices...NO extra shipping!

PM me!

Skeleton Crew Lettered 'I' - $2700

Talisman Artist Edition, signed by SK, Straub and all the artists, Numbered #7 out of 70 - $1800

Plant #1, #2, #3, all three signed and inscribed to the same person, Chris Chesley - $7500

Lisey's Story first edition, signed, just his name - $225

Song of Susannah Blue Grant proof - $100

From a Buick 8 #327 s/l - $360

Buick 8, signed first trade edition - $225

Ideal, Genuine Man, #223 signed/ltd - $165

Bag of Bones first edition, signed, just his name - $190

Rose Madder signed first edition, signed w/inscription - $190

Running Man first paperback by Bachman, signed as King w/short inscription - $225

Rage, first paperback edition, good shape, no serious cracks to the binding, there is a handwritten name (not SK) neatly written on the inside cover, and an old bookstore price in pencil - $250

Firestarter signed first edition, w/inscription. Book is very good, but I switched it with a fine dustjacket - $300

Transgressions s/l #98 - $410

Carrie, first edition, but dustjacket is pretty beat up. It's intact, but has some problems that we'll discuss if you want to hear more - $400

George Beahm, 'Stephen King Companion' lettered edition 'K' of just 26 copies. Uncommon book about SK, and a very rare lettered edition. Signed by lots of people, though not King. Comes in a traycase, but whoever opened the shipping box cut a little deeply and there's a scar across the front cover of the traycase, not horrible, but not great either. $375 (high price, but about what I paid, and I've actually never seen another one for sale)

Clive Barker, Books of Blood, #176. Subterranan Press limited edition. $150

Ask me for images of the signed trade editions, or anything else!

I still have the 1/1 Gunslinger if anyone is interested. I am asking $560 including shipping. It isn't in pristine condition, but there are no major tears on the DJ. There is one small tear, about 2mm, on the bottom edge of the spine and some slight shelfwear. I haven't figured out how to post the pictures...

Please PM me if you are interested and I can at least email the pictures to you.
Thanks!

Talisman Artist Edition Lettered #7 out of 70 - $1800

Surely this is the numbered presentation state and not the Lettered.

The price range according to The Collector is $1,100-$1,600.

Rahfa

Well, it's the Artist Edition numbered 7 out of 70...same signatures.

If the Collector has one, he's of course welcome to sell it for a price within that range.

Other Worlds bookstore has one of the lettered version and also this numbered version, signed by all the artists, each for sale at the same price - $2800.

LW Currey has an unnumbered/unlettered version of this artist's edition with a beat-up slipcase available for $1500.

Hello all, I have 2 extra copies of the UK Signed/Limited of Under the Dome. Both came from Hatchards so no shipping bumps etc... though one is slightly flawed.
One has a tiny little tear on the bottom right of the spine. It is small, i would say less than 1/8th of an inch. Looks like something just barely snagged the purple cloth and tore it. I was like this under the Shrinkwrap so i assume it occurred during the binding process.
I can send a pic if your interested, i will let that one go at about cost to me, So $200 shipped and insured in the US will pretty much make me even on that one.

The other is perfect, only took out to check the signature (bascially to make sure it had a sig and wasn't skipped my accident or something)
I will let that one go for $275 shipped and insured in the US.

Not sure of the numbers, i can check if you like both are in the 3 hundreds i know that much. PM me or email me rrdunaway@msn.com

I'm selling an oddity, it's a UK hardcover edition of The Breathing Method, which is the only hardcover stand alone edition of the book (at least in English). It came from Chris's collection and is signed to him. It's very rare but I would recommend only for a completest. Also as you can see from the picture it's in perfect condition.

I have no idea what's its worth, if anyone wants to make me an offer just pm me. Thanks!

Enjoy the read! LOL

I apologize for the pricing errors. I have fixed them all, I hope. I didn't realize that some stuff didn't get prices changed. CRAP! My bad..New prices listed in green

My life is crazy...it may or may not take me awhile to ship. I have to be able to get into the totes where all these are stored and will have to wait til the 9 month old is sleeping to do so (or if Hubby is home) so bare with me in regards to shipping. You will get what you bought! I promise! :)

Yes I would love to help the haven foundation, i have normally been in a position to help others and always have when ever i could. This insanity that has been bestowed upon me is like living in a nightmare. One of my houses has been seized and i have been locked out of it. I am sitting in my country house which contains a lifetime of my collected treasures. I have not been notified of any day or time when i must get out. The sheriff may come any minute. They like surprises I guess. With 4 feet of snow around MY house which I personally built over the last ten years, I wouldn't even be able to get a moving truck in here to get my things. I am trying desperately to find homes for things and send them out as much as i can carry, to people who will treasure them like I have. All the money will go to attempting to bring this tyranny and injustice to the supreme court of canada, where hopefully somebody sane works.
I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy, I am sorry I cannot spare a nickle right now but hope to recover somehow, and appreciate the forum and everyone who has helped by buying my stuff, I think everyone has been pleased with the items.
take care all, I hope to be back on my feet soon and pay the kindness forward.
I will never stop fighting for justice.

I am so sorry for everything you are going through. I just made a major book purchase myself but here is what I can do:

I'm selling my extra 1st Edition Carrie, signed Under the Dome, & my UK limited Under the Dome (small damage to corner of slipcase) to pay for my book purchase. When I sell these, what's left over I will buy something from your collection to help you out.

Wish I could do more. Good thoughts being sent your way.

My goodness I've been remembered by many! It's good to find you guys, I wasn't sure what happened to the old forums but found "Camp Doc" which just didn't seem the same.

Well, things changed alot since I last spoke with many of you. Mary, my wife that you heard about, passed away due to prescription narcotics. It's been 3 years since that happened. I took some time for myself after that and did a lot of soul searching and praying wondering if I did the right things and if I should have done more.

After spending some time beating myself (happened for a while) God gave me some grace and introduced me to Crystal. She's a wonderful woman, we got married and had our first child together Feb 2. His name is Jacob Gabriel. I'll definitely post pictures once I find the right thread....since I've hijacked this one (I apologize to those coming in having to read this when all you want is some books!) So, I want to make sure she has some nice maternity time and am willing to give up a couple of books for it.

I've seen some of us have prospered during my sabbatical, Wizardsrainbow in particular comes to mind with the purchase of Bett's Books..

Please, fill me in on your lives. I"m glad to find old friends again!

Just wave your magic wand. They did give you one, right?

Just go to the thread you want to move the posts to and right click/copy the url, come back here and in the upper right hand corner of each post you want to move there will be a tiny box, check that box for each post you wish to move, then go to the bottom of the page and in the dropdown box choose move posts, then hit go. On the next screen you have two options one to move posts to a forum (but yours are staying here) and one to move the posts to an existing thread, tick the circle for an existing thread, paste the url you copied before, and hit the move posts button. Then you'll most likely get a screen asking you to login your password and...your posts will all be moved :D ...or you'll get a screen telling you you deleted the entire website:P .

With great sadness I have decided to sell one if the few cool books in my collection.

The reason is the same as everyone else, hard times. We're expecting a large check as I cash in my retirement from a previous job...but didn't expect to be taking care of my daughter and her kids. :scared:

I have a very generous offer on this book for 325.00 shipped but I need every penny so if anyone can beat it, I'd appreciate that.

I hand carried the book from Colorado to Washington DC to have it signed by King at the Three Kings event, one of the top five days of my life.

Since there is an offer, I am going to leave this open for 24 hours. 4PM EST tomorrow I'll call it a deal. Please PM me if you are interested. Sorry the pics are grainy, bad light day. The book is in great condition.

I'm not sure the best way to do this, so I'll give this forum a shot.

I've recently purchased the S/L/#'d versions of three anthologies, which gives me the opportunity to clear my shelf of the trade editions. The books are:

1) The Best of Cemetery Dance. Here's a link (http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-BEST-OF-CEMETERY-DANCE-HARDCOVER-STEPHEN-KING_W0QQitemZ190375332363QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Fi ction_Books?hash=item2c53410a0b) to a recent auction. That's not my auction but it gives you an idea what the book is, with a photo. Huge book, with over 800 pages of horror anthology gold. I think the print run was fairly low, but there's a couple listed on ABE if you want to check out the listings there. My copy has never been read. Fine looking book in Fine DJ. King's contribution is his story Chattery Teeth.

2) Night Visions V. First book appearance of King stories The Reploids, Sneakers, and Dedication. Again, this link (http://cgi.ebay.com/STEPHEN-KING-REPLOIDS-SNEAKERS-NIGHT-VISIONS-5-DJ-1ST_W0QQitemZ370254674373QQcategoryZ377QQcmdZViewI temQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DDLSL%252 BSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252 BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D20%26po%3D%26ps%3D 63%26clkid%3D8513475592392290985) is not to my auction but shows you the book and description. Lots of ABE listings as well. My copy has been read once; Fine book in NF to F DJ.

3) The Book of the Dead. First book appearance of King story Home Delivery. Here's a link (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=1406956742&searchurl=bi%3Dh%26bx%3Doff%26dj%3Don%26ds%3D30%26 pn%3DZiesing%26recentlyadded%3Dall%26sortby%3D1%26 sts%3Dt%26tn%3Dbook%2Bof%2Bthe%2Bdead%26x%3D53%26y %3D6%26yrh%3D1990%26yrl%3D1988) to the cheapest one offered on ABE. My copy is F/F, never read.

Here's what I'll do. If you are interested, PM me your offer. After 1 week, I'll sell the books to the best offer. I'll donate the entire amount to the Haven Foundation, except for $20, which will cover priority shipping plus leave me enough left over to grab lunch on my way home from the post office.

So as long as the best offer is over $20, the charity gets something. The more you offer, the more the charity gets (not me.) When considering your offer keep in mind that you don't have to add for shipping and postage. That comes out of my end.

Not "high value" books to be sure, but great books to have if you like to collect King trade firsts and books where King stories appear for the first time.

Feel free to ask with Q's.

Matt

Hey, I have all the 1st/1st Bachman books except Rage (wait...maybe I need Thinner too in HB...have to check).

Does anyone have a copy of Rage they want to part with? I can buy it off ABE, but I get nervous about their "condition" reliability, so would rather buy from someone on here. :)

Thanks!!
Curt
p.s. Thanks Ari_Racing!!! Will do. That is a more than reasonable price. There is a SIGNED one on EBay right now for $499 with one bid. Too pricey for me at the moment since I can get a few cool needed items for that price!! Will keep ABE in my favorites and check often. :)

p.s.s. I'm still looking for a Cycle of the Werewolf too. The one I bought was tragically destroyed with the cover ripped as he was wrapping it for shipping. I had him send me a scan and it brought a tear to my eye as the 2+ inch rip went down from the top of book down and was creased badly too! :(

Okay, I'm pretty much almost broke (well actually more than broke since I have put most everything on my credit card using PayPal). :(

But I see this Knowing Darkness book and I feel like I would be remiss in my newfound duty as a true SK collector if I don't get a copy into my feverishly sweaty greedy little hands. :)

Does anyone have an extra copy they want to unload?

I would REALLY like the TrayCased version, but it is sure pricey!!! It comes with extra pictures though which is really cool.

Does anyone have either one they want to sell? I'd rather buy from someone wants to get rid of one on here to help them help me in Jerry McGuire style (You had me at "darkness").

Plus, then I know it's in great condition and I won't get one that is all beat up and half the pictures have been covered in whiteout from someone's kid and then obviously redrawn with a half-used crayon.

Thanks!!!

Eric, unless I missed something, it looks like VJ is selling signed First Editions, however the "Specially Bound" First Edition is something slightly different as it contains a specific gold sticker on the dustjacket and a tipped-in signature sheet. There are 1180 copies of this edition according to our member, Gris.

For example:

If I knew how to upload photos I would show mine. VJ's must either not put the sticker on or take it off as there is no sticker. They also put a brodart cover on the dust jacket with there VJ book sticker on the back inside flap.

So VJ did send you four copies of the Specially Bound Signed First Edition. That's great!
(Personally I'd email them and ask them to send me four of gold stickers, one to keep with each book.)

They also put a brodart cover on the dust jacket with there VJ book sticker on the back inside flap.

Most of the times the sticker is put on by the bookseller, like B&N or Borders might put on a sticker if it's signed. It's usually not the publisher that provides the stickers.

The booksellers do it so the book stands out.

True, however in this case, the gold sticker seems to be specific to this edition as it seems to appear on all the Specially Bound books in different stores.

One bookstore where Joe stopped and signed was putting their usual stickers on the regular books he flatsigned. That was a different sticker than this gold one.

Maybe not a big deal, but I would still email VJ and ask them to mail me the missing gold stickers (probably in a drawer somewhere?) and keep them (not affix them) with the Specially Bound books.

I have a signed version of Horns for sale. "Damnably, Joe Hill". First press, full number line. It also has the standard doodle that pretty much every copy I've seen online has.

I'd like to get $40 for the book and I'd charge shipping at cost. I don't know how much it would be to send a book to US or overseas but I'm thinking no more than $15.

I'm also open to trade offers.

Herbert - No...I have hundreds left, these are just the ones with King featured on the cover.

Ari - The Stephen King Collectors Club was created years before DT.net. It was originally a Yahoo Club (which were switched to Yahoo Groups years ago), then switched for a time as a MSN Club and at the time was one of the largest Stephen King fan groups online and the only one around that catered to collectors. There are very few here who were members back then (Bob Ireland? Bev Vincent? John Hanic maybe?) and most of the original members (Charlie Fried, George Beahm, Tina from Canada, John Thornburn, Steve Spignesi, Dave Hutch, Rosandra Green, etc.) have since sold their collections, moved on or just became very quiet online.

Tina I come across regularly on eBay. she must have sold many of her King-treasures by now. And boy, that was some collection she had!

Yeah it was, but she had a high opinion on it's value too. Higher than many others I think.

There you are Dave! Nice to see you again.

Yes, Tina had quite the collection. I was able to visit it on a trip to B.C. many years ago and was very impressed with the many items I had never seen before (and I've seen a lot!). Wish I still had contact with her.

To all of those who have emailed in the last day about magazines - I will get back to you after the weekend as I'm now out of town until Sunday evening. I also realized that not all of these mags are stored in the same place in my messy office/library so I'm trying to track some down...and have found quite a bit more to add for sale.

Tina contacted me a month or so ago wanting to know if I would buy the rest of her collection. Her prices were just too high, so I passed on it.

Her prices are at least 50% too high.

Agreed, Tina bought at the extreme upswing of the King stock market and can't recover. I believe some of her items she sold already ended high (as the market stands now) and she still took a loss.

Ugh...sux...and there's nothing she can do about it....those high prices are never coming back...

I've been soooo lucky...I can't think of a real "bad" purchase that I couldn't recover from.

True enough.
Living in Europe, I'm in a different situation myself. A number of years ago the dollar was quite a strong currency, definitely compared to our euro. So, when I bought a valuable Kingbook (or whatever) , say, for $1000,00, it cost me about €1300,00 (euros.)
Right now it's the other way round: I buy a book for $1000,00 and it costs me some €700,00.
So, for us, Europeans, now's the time to buy. And I am! :)

OK, I found that I have some sets of the artwork from the Centipede Press Salem's Lot edition that I am willing to sell. I thought I would offer them to my friends here first before offering more broadly to my customers. I got input from several people as to pricing (including Jerad himself) and have decided to price these a bit lower than what generally was recommended to me. For those of you who own the Salem's Lot Gift Edition, these are the 7 illustrations that were bound into the S/L and Lettered editions. The Gift Edition came without illustrations. The illustrations can be viewed here:

http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=1183

My price for a set of 7 prints is $125 + S/H (again the recommendation was for higher). There are a limited number so please PM me if you have a definite interest. I will give people a week or so and any sets I have left will be put up on my site. I prefer not to do PayPal, but will if necessary. Personal checks are fine and I won't wait for funds to clear. I'll ship as soon as I have $$ in hand.

John Stewart artwork for a Gunslinger book? More clarification needs to be added like Mr. RT said. As it is, I wouldn't bid on this item because I know Whelan did the artwork in The Gunslinger.

Can someone go into more detail about the whole John Stewart artist thing? I never heard of anyone other than Whelan doing art for the book, and neither of the "John Stewart"s I could find had any DT-themed artwork.
