View Full Version : I did it because I was scared. Sorry

You may not have noticed that the last few weeks I have been avoiding this place. I have been avoiding this place and everyone I know. I made up some lame excuse but it wasn't true.
You see, my doctor and a neurosurgeon were convinced I had Parkinson's disease. The had me convinced as well. I told no one, even wifey. It took about three weeks for the test to come back and it came back negative for any neuro disease!!!!

I am so relieved!!!!!!

Now that we know what it isn't, we have to know now what it is. The shaking is bad now and typing is tough. I tend to hit the key to the right of the one I wish to depress...sometimes, the one above.

I have missed you all and am sorry for my lie (especially to Jean)...I was scared.

sometimes I think I have parkinson's, but my brother says I'[m a hypochandriac (which I think is true) and I just have twitches when I get self conscious.

my father has shaky hands but no Parkinson's... his is related to blood sugar drops and spikes.

Nice to see you back, darlin'! :rose:

Jon,
thank you for your confidence. You did what you had to do. You shouldn't be sorry at all.
I do and I will think of you a lot and I hope we can see you much more often.
*hugs you*
If only all your tests came back negative.
Please don't forget to relax. I know the world is waiting for being saved but you must take a rest.

Hey Jon.
Yeah, I knew you were missing in action for the last week or two - but then these places are like that & you might not see someone for a while.

Glad to hear it ain't Parkinson's anyway, but I guess you're right & you should try to get to th e bottom of it. Is it all the time? (eg. the typing thing), or intermittent? Could it be stress-related?

Best of *Goodmind* to you man.

Jon, I'm so happy to hear it's not Parkinson's http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd293/MrsRoryWeasley/Other/Smilies/Millan%20Smilies/whew.gif and I hope you get what it IS nailed down soon so that you can get some kind of treatment plan started. I understand about being scared at the unknown - been there myself. Just keep your chin up and know that we're all here for you in whatever way we can be.

Jon, glad to hear that you are relieved. Hopefully, you will get whatever affliction that is ailing you under control. Nothing but good thoughts to you, amigo. And may whatever constitutes as a higher power in your life extend a sense of health, peace and happiness to you and yours. Be well. :)

Thank you all so much!

To answer Brian...it is related to when a given muscle or muscle group must "do" something. Usually the hardest is keeping the muscle or muscle group still. The problem has gone beyond my limbs... shit I'm sorry...I..this is what scares me...the shaking is now in my trunk muscles and muscle groups. This is very close to my breathing muscles. It is clear that the "condition" is accelerating. Now, during treatment meetings or interactions when one needs to be generally still, I will have several jerks that resemble hypnagogic jerks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnic_jerk) ,sometimes as many as a dozen per hour. It is really embarrassing as during treatment team meetings I facilitate the meeting and often have the floor.

All of your words mean much to me. Thank you.

I understand your concern here darling, yet do not borrow what you do not need.
Concentrate on the finding , and the overall sense of control in things you do have
control of. Concessions can and likely will be made to accommodate any special needs
you have or develop I am sure. Meanwhile go to a quiet place in your mind when you can and focus your intentions on what you want and need. Your mind is very powerful, and your friends *goodmind* reflecting into your spirit together with your higher power should find the way to overcome any adversity. We love you man, hang in.:huglove:

Jon, as a pharmacist, I wanted to let you know that PD symtoms can be a side effect of several medications. Especially if you are being treated for any psychological conditions. Hope your situation is resolved soon.
Good luck.

Jon, my friend, good to hear that it isn't Parkinson's. I do hope that you get figured out.

BTW, pleasant surprise with the Christmas card yesterday. That is what brought my visit here today. I guess I'll hunker down and palaver for a spell.

Now off to write some riddles!

Hi Mike!!! So great to see an old friend. (I just want to point out that Mike is older than I)

My shaking is really out of hand now. I am having trouble feeding myself sometimes. I am so embarrassed to ask someone to feed me I skip eating some days. Now I am about 72 hours w/o food but I'm not hungry anymore.

Mike, I am now soooo glad I sent that card. I am sorry I cannot read your writing well enough to spell your last name. I reckon Gunky did just fine, but it is unlikely you could read my writing. I had wo waith for a "good" day. Love ya' Mike!

Don't be a stranger!

Jon - How about protein shakes with a straw? That might help. Skipping meals will just make you weak and unable to fight any kind of infection and hinder your recovery aspects.

Are they doing more tests etc, to try and diagnose? What's your next steps?

Sorry, sending GOODMIND your way.

Jon

I had to abandon the straw but I did have one after midnight. I find that on the bad days I can still eat with a large rimmed glass or a bowl. I just have to learn to adapt. On the good days, you'd never notice except the occasional jerk of my trunk muscles. I have also noticed i shake more when I am hungry. Catch - 22. As far as more tests go, this doc has given up and declaired them "benign tremmors." I now know how to adapt and some day, by process of elimination I will find a way to lessen the effects. I already know to not get hungry. And I know it is not blood sugar. So I just keep a journal of input, enviroment, stimuli and reactions, then I will figure it out. I just need a few months for some solid data. Thank you for your concern.:grouphug:

Haha! Yes, I am older, but probably not wiser!

I could read your writing just fine, that card made my day, ah hell made my year! I wonder what my mailman thought when he saw "Gunky and family".

Much love back to you my friend!
